Thank you for telling your story, I'm sure there will be readers who will look at how far you've come and take heart for their own circumstances. I'm so sorry though to hear about your first little girl. Our children imprint themselves on us forever, don't they?
And well done Ginger.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

You have turned your life around and should feel so proud of that. I’m so sorry that you lost your 1 st baby.....it must have been a very hard time for you both. You really have done so well managing the way you have.
The decorations look lovely......at this rate I think I’ll be decorating the builders ladders 😂😂😂😂January spends - £587.582 -

Well it was a shock to the system having to get up at 5.30 this morning 🙀 I had a good day though and now have two short shifts to look forward to. It's starting to get busy at work and staff are dropping like flies so I predict a bumpy few months ahead. Our ward is being rearranged yet again but hopefully for the last time🙄
Im off tomorrow so can have a lie in then I've promised to dye DD2s hair for her, I don't have any housework to do because she did it all today including all the ironing 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 so I might put some more Christmas decorations up in the hall, I didn't do it last year because I kept putting it off and then ran out of time, so I might actually get it done this year,I've also got to put the trees up in the dolls house 😀
Health wise my breathing and energy levels have been good today so the inhaler is definitely helping but I've had several episodes of palpitations with slight chest pain so can't wait for Thursdays ECG, I haven't had pain before so will need to mention it when I got to the surgery, it could just be indigestion but I don't know
No money was spent today either so that's a bonus. I always forget to record my no spend days but will try to make more of an effort, I'm feeling a bit lax on the money front at the moment, I think it's because everything is all just running along in the background, I haven't got any big decisions to make so far as finances are concerned and my DMP is pootling along nicely so apart from checking my bank balance a couple of times I don't need to do much, I'm conscious of becoming complacent though so I'm going to be looking at ways to economise if I can. I need to go and explore the other boards to pick up some ideas.
Since we have been doing our fortnightly online shop my food bill seems a lot more stable, I dont buy fresh food in the online shop so still have to do top up shops for that but it's working out really well. Before I got ill I was planning my meals a bit more than I used to and that was working well, I was eating better and had less waste,it all went out the window when we both got ill but now I'm starting to feel better again I am planning on cooking more from scratch, I have bought three meals this week that I could easily have made myself and I did only buy them because I was too tired to cook and by the time I've cooked something I no longer want to eat it. Today I feel like I might get away with making something and actually eating it so things are heading in the right direction and I will be buying some fresh veg to make some nice things with 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8946 -
I hope the pain is just another side effect of the Covid, but it's best to get it checked.
Would it help to cook two or three portions and freeze some (I think you used to do that)? That way perhaps you could have two out of three days of the meal being ready before you go off the thought. Have your taste buds improved at all?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Agree with Cherryfudge that batch cooking is probably the way forward here. I think of this as making my own 'ready meals'. We also do a lot of 'Make the recipe for 4, but eat it two days running. Did that with roast butternut macaroni cheese Sun & Mon and will be doing again with my sausage casserole on Fri & Sat. It' s useful when you're busy, knackered or both.
