  • I hope the pain is just another side effect of the Covid, but it's best to get it checked.

Would it help to cook two or three portions and freeze some (I think you used to do that)? That way perhaps you could have two out of three days of the meal being ready before you go off the thought. Have your taste buds improved at all?
I hope so too 😊 yes when I cook a meal that only I'm eating I always split it into four portions and save three, sometimes I will eat the same meal for four days in a row if it's a favourite or I freeze the spares for another day. My taste buds still aren't working properly, I can taste sweet, sour and salty and that's about it, I had Boursin on crackers earlier and couldn't taste it 😟I hope it comes back for Christmas

Agree with Cherryfudge that batch cooking is probably the way forward here. I think of this as making my own 'ready meals'. We also do a lot of 'Make the recipe for 4, but eat it two days running. Did that with roast butternut macaroni cheese Sun & Mon and will be doing again with my sausage casserole on Fri & Sat. It' s useful when you're busy, knackered or both.

I do the same when making a meal just for me, I am going to cook now regardless because if I don't wan go eat it when I've done it I can just freeze it and eat some the next day, it's the cooking that's putting me off,I'm looking at the food and it's making me feel sick, so anything I can just reheat and eat is good

  • The story of how you got into debt is really interesting OBL. I'm really sorry about your first daughter, that's a dreadful thing to have to deal with and I expect the sadness of that will be with you for ever 😥. It sounds as though your ex was responsible for most of your debt by his bad influence and bad habits rubbing off on you. On the plus side he did help you to have two lovely daughters though so he wasn't a complete waste of space :). You've really turned your money around and I don't think you'll ever go back to your old spendy ways .

It's a good idea to mention the pain in your chest when you go to the doctor.
Thanks Hairy, I think about her a lot especially when my DDs have a birthday or do something special,I wonder what she would be doing,if she would be married with children and how her life would have turned out
