Yay I've finished work until Tuesday the 8th of December 🎉🎉🎉 yesterday I was in clinics all day and worked 9-5 so quite a nice day, it was very quiet as well so we weren't rushing around like normal. They have moved a lot of our clinics onto virtual consultations at the moment so people don't need to come to the hospital. I was a bit worried about the afternoon clinic because the consultant is a pain in the butt and likes to shout at me but he was off so someone else who is really laid back did it instead, it was a perfect end to a good day
Today I have been really lazy,I had a nice lie in then after a shower and breakfast I took B out for her walk where I bumped into some neighbours from another road who I'm friends with, we had a socially distanced chat ( they were in their car ) and I told them I had had the virus they both said oh yes you do look like you've been ill 🙀😀 so it's not just my Mum 😀 I haven't seen them for about 6 months. They aren't seeing their family at all over Christmas, they've decided to forget it this year and hope next year is better which is fair enough.
My christmas plans have changed slightly too. I thought DD was coming to me but apparently she thought I was going to them, god job I found out before I bought loads of food. I really want to stay at home but will feel very guilty if I do so me, DD2 and B are going to theirs for Christmas Day. My Son in-law does do a lovely roast so that will be nice and it will be easier for the DGC because they can have naps in their rooms and play with all their toys, she just wants me to bring dessert so that takes the pressure off a bit 🎉🎉🎉 she didn't mention any of their plans for the rest of the time so I will leave that up to them
I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing this week apart from knitting and reading, I will be going to do some Christmas shopping after Wednesday when the lockdown ends and I do have some bits to do in the garden but that depends on energy levels and the weather,we've just had two lovely sunny days but today it's rainy and miserable
It was also payday yesterday and I'm pleased to say my wages aren't too bad despite not doing any unsocial hours last month. All bills will be covered and there's spare for savings so that's a relief. I got my off duty up until the middle of January yesterday and I have a few weekend shifts so that's looking good, the person who does our rota asked me if I would like to do my long days at the weekend so I said yes please. The week I go back to work is really nice, I've got 9-5 in clinics on Tuesday and Friday and then a long day on the Sunday 🎉🎉 . I also mustn't forget that yesterday and today have been NSDs 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
That's great about NSDs and getting a dessert will ease the pressure a lot.
Glad the money is ok though and having money for savings is also a bonus.
Enjoy your time off. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

It's not surprising if you look a bit peaky OBL as you have been very ill. It will be more restful for you to go to DD's for Christmas and cheaper.
I hope you enjoy your week off and we get some more sunshine in Devon, we deserve it after all the rain we've had. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I don’t blame dd wanting you to go to her. All the children will want to do is play in their own house with the toys Father Christmas brought - like you said they can nap in their own rooms giving the grown ups a bit of time together. Bet you’ll have a lovely day together 🎄

Hi OBL, I've read your diary for ages and when I saw the comments from your mum and friends about you still looking a bit ill I thought I'd pop in with a suggestion. Which is to use that moisturiser with a bit of fake tan in it. You only have to use it every few days and it really does give a little bit of a glow and brighten the complexion up.I am naturally very fair with freckles and in winter I often look very washed out, with the freckles standing out more and making my underlying skin tone looking even paler. If I ever get comments about looking a bit tired I immediately use the moisturiser a bit more frequently and the next time I see people they say ' oh you're looking much better'! I use the D*ve one which isn't expensive and oK for sensitive skin, but there are loads out there.Hope you are feeling better and have a relaxing few days off work.
