I hope the antibiotics take effect soon. I do think sickness monitoring ought to be rethought: fair enough to catch the people who try to take Fridays (or Mondays) off when they aren't ill, but it penalises people like you who have a health condition but try to work.
I love that you post photos and that the cats are settling down.

Aw he’s so cute 💕 I think employers need to sort out this sick period trigger malarkey, they must know the difference between genuine cases and malingerers. When I broke my ankle 3 years ago I set off a trigger as it was over 2 weeks off. I had to have an occupational health assessment. I wouldn’t mind but I went back to work after 3 weeks with my leg still in plaster when I could’ve had 6 weeks off.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

He loves his bed but does also like to snuggle up on the settee too. I've given up worrying about the sickness monitoring there are people there who are quite obviously taking the mick but they get away with it all the time, I'm certainly not going to be penalised for it .Nicnak said:He looks so adorable and loving his new bed.

They really do need to look at it, one workmate was ill in intensive care last year and still had to undergo sickness monitoring and when my friend had her hysterectomy she had sickness monitoring too. I understand that sickness cost money each year but why target everyone, they don't even get anyone in to replace us so it's not like they are paying out extra. I told them last year I would rather not be paid for sickness and have them leave me alone 🙀Cherryfudge said:I hope the antibiotics take effect soon. This is what annoys me about it, it's the genuine people who end up being penalised and the people who skive off don't care anyway. Several years ago he of our nurses retired after working on our ward for over 30 years, they made a big thing of how she had never taken a day off sick in all that time and how it was such an achievement but to me that's just sheer luck, I would give anything to be healthy enough to never have to take a day off it must feel great to be that healthySun_Addict said:Aw he’s so cute 💕 I think employers need to sort out this sick period trigger malarkey, they must know the difference between genuine cases and malingerers. I triggered it and they were really rude. I had been off three times in a rolling year, one was for a sickness bug (48hrs) and one was a heavy head cold (24hrs)(I worked in a pharmacy so didn't want to go in while I was literally steaming and sneezing) and then they went on about the other three days I had off which was recorded as a gyne issue. They shut right up when I said, yes, that would be the miscarriage I had.
I understand monitoring sick days, but forcing interviews with people who have operations or obvious reasons for an absence is just a waste of time.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4
