My journey to a debt free life

  • I triggered it and they were really rude. I had been off three times in a rolling year, one was for a sickness bug (48hrs) and one was a heavy head cold (24hrs)(I worked in a pharmacy so didn't want to go in while I was literally steaming and sneezing) and then they went on about the other three days I had off which was recorded as a gyne issue. They shut right up when I said, yes, that would be the miscarriage I had.

I understand monitoring sick days, but forcing interviews with people who have operations or obvious reasons for an absence is just a waste of time.
I was really put through the wringer by an old boss every time I triggered, she made my life hell at the time but I was so ill mentally and psychically that I didn't have enough energy to fight back. I was so relieved when she retired. In fairness to my current management they have actually been as supportive as they can be but the policy is there to be followed so they don't have a lot of choice. It annoys me that I get penalised because I have a chronic illness, I can't be off with anything else which is just not realistic when working with children in a hospital. I think if you have been signed off work officially then it shouldn't apply

  • Just phoned work to tell them I won't be in tomorrow🙁I thought I had turned a corner when I got up but was only ok until I started moving about so I'm back on the sofa for a bit having a cup of tea and a catch up on here
Its also a beautiful sunny day but with a bit of a nip in the air so I've got the door open but I'm sitting here in a jumper.
I was supposed to be spending the day with DD1 and DGS2 on Thursday in preparation for when I start looking after him next week but I've just told her I can't do it, we were going into town and to the Swedish Emporium because she has things to do and I was there to help,I was actually looking forward to it but I'm not up to it now, she just said she will have to try and do it on her own but she didn't sound very happy 🙁
In other news B is not very well 🙁 I can't make out if she has hurt her back or if there is something else going on. I'm supposed to be taking her to the vet on Thursday morning for her vaccinations  but will need to see how I feel tomorrow,I'm not sure they will want me there coughing away. My washing machine has also picked this week to break 😡it will wash and do the spin in the middle of the cycle but won't do the end spin, I haven't even got the energy to sort that out

Oh no, everything at once. :( The priority is to be gentle on yourself. Sending hugs x

  • Cancel that post about the washing machine,it seems it is working so long as the load isn't too heavy,I was trying to wash my bath mat which get very heavy when it's wet so that might have contributed, obviously there is something not quite right because I've washed this mat before and not had a problem, I think I can get away with using it for now so long as I'm careful how much I put in in one load. I will try and get someone out to look at it next week, there's no way anyone would want to come and do it now 🙄

  • I hope you continue to improve this week, don't rush back to work until you are 100%. Fingers crossed washing machine carries on working for you. I love September, we still get some lovely days and it's still warm. Do hope B is ok , during the rest of the week. Love the photos of your cat .

I love September too,it's been a lovely day here today, I've done a couple of loads now and it's coped ok 😊 I'm not sure what is going on with B,we thought she had hurt her back but she isn't eating properly ( although she didn't say no to a rich tea biscuit earlier )
Im really hoping I can still take her to the vet on Thursday to get her checked out 😊

Glad the WM isn’t kaput, mine plays up if I wash anything heavy. I hope you can get B checked out at the vets, hopefully it won’t be anything serious 🤞
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Thanks SA, hopefully the washing machine will limp on for a bit longer, I have the funds to fix it but don't want the hassle of getting someone in, if it the brushes I might be able to do it myself, some of them just clip in but on others you can't get to them easily to do yourself. In the past I've tried to watch anyone repairing things in my house to see how easy it would be to do myself but now we have to keep our distance I can't do that, youtube is good for this kind of thing though so I might investigate on there first
I'm going to phone the vets tomorrow to see if we can keep our appointment on Thursday morning. She was actually a bit mor active tonight so might be feeling a bit better. I'm wondering if she as eaten something dodgy because she has very smelly wind 🤢🤢
