Yay the rain stopped so I got to let the cats out. I decided to try to keep them on the patio to begin with so I made a gate out of two old chicken run panels, there is a 6 foot fence on two sides plus a 6 ish ft high wall, the gate is on a step so is also about 6ft tall,I've moved the patio table into the middle of the patio so they can't jump from that onto the fence. Our new cat A could possibly jump onto the fence from something but I don't think he can do it from the ground and J would definitely struggle nowadays,he usually goes out the kitchen window and along the sill to get to the fence  but it's too high to do that from the outside. They might figure it out eventually but for now they are restricted to the patio. J went straight out had a look round and came back in when he realised he couldn't get up the garden steps and A sat and watched from the doorway, the good news is that J walked past him to get back in the house and there was no hissing or growling from either of them,J has also voluntarily come into the living room to sleep on " his" settee while A is curled up next to me, we age been giving them treats while they are in the same room too
A only stayed out for about 5 minutes before running back in😀

That's great news about the cats. Sounds like they are starting to tolerate each other a little more.
That cake looks absolutely delicious too. You should hopefully have your results by tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it is negative so you can get stuff done that you need to. x

I hope it arrives early because I need to try to get a gp appointment to see if they can give me anything for my chest, I've been coughing so much this afternoon I was nearly sick earlier, I wasn't actually feeling too bad but I don't feel too good tonight, I'm off to bed in a bit and will hopefully stop coughing long enough to sleep 😟 lungs feel like they are burning 😟

I've been naughty this evening and started knitting a blankey for A. I have these two massive balls of wool in a bag in my wardrobe and I didn't know what to use them for, then this evening I decided I could knit A and J a blankey each 😀 I'm doing a 2 x2 rib pattern so I don't need to concentrate too much and the wool I'm using is self patterning so knots up into different shades of beige and brown but in wide stripes. Both cats like to sleep on the back of the settee but leave lots of hair behind so I thought I blankey each would solve that problem and they would also be more snuggly 😀
Its taken my mind off the constant coughing anyway. I'm hoping I get my test result early tomorrow because if it's negative I need to go out and get some more cough medicine, I also need to try and speak to my gp if it's negative because that means I've got a chest infection 😟

Fingers crossed it comes in soon.
I love the idea of you knitting them a blanket each. I am sure they will love snuggling with them, plus it saves you cleaning up constantly. x

What an awful night that was, the rattling sounds coming from my chest kept me awake more than the coughing. My test result was negative thankfully so I haven't got the dreaded lurgy but do have a lurgy of some sort, a Doctor is phoning me this afternoon to see if I need antibiotics. I've phoned work to say I won't be in tomorrow because I still don't feel well and still have a horrendous cough..DD got ready and went to work as soon as I got my results and we are both allowed out again now 🎉🎉not that I want to go anywhere
I chucked some washing in the machine when I first woke up this morning but then went back to bed,it was lovely and sunny so I thought I would be able to peg it out but it's one of those sunshine and shower days, I think I will chance it ,the weather app on my phone says there's a 20% chance of rain
I'm also planning on doing some more knitting today,I was supposed to be going too meet my mum for lunch but had to cancel that,we have rearranged for next Friday instead
