Drawingaline said:It certainly sounds like his behaviour was more because of circumstances rather than a built in grump! Cats hate dirty trays and are very particular. I can't hear the smell, once one has gone I have to scoop straight away. But one of my clients leaves the tray until it is horrific. I couldn't have that in the house.

Day off today and I haven't done a lot, I feel like I'm getting a lurgy and have quite a wheezy chest 🙁 I've taken some echinacea so hopefully that will ward off the germs
I took A to the vets earlier for a health check so he can have worm and flea treatment, I also got his vaccinations re started because he hasn't any since 2017🙀 I wasn't allowed in the consulting room so waited in the waiting room. I warned them he was likely to scratch and bite, anyway I could hear them talking to him and him replying with his funny little meow that he does 😀 and when she brought him out she said " omg he is such a lovely cat, he has real character and we loved that he kept talking to us" so my vet loves him 😀 he was very good and didn't attack anyone 🎉🎉🎉

OBL - Yes, cleaning that litter tray regularly will be making all the difference. Cats are clean animals by nature. Cats with access to the garden for their natural functions would never choose the same A3-equivalent size little rectangular area every time, yet that is what we are expecting them to do in a dirty litter tray. That poor cat has been shut in a room with a mucky tray when he has, as you say, just been trying to avoid getting nasty pooey feet! It sounds as though he doesn't have complicated needs.... just a bit of attention & fuss, somewhere to sleep which isn't 'shut in' & a regularly cleaned litter tray. I think that's just basic cat ownership. I hope he can stay...... am such a cat girl... I love a happy purry ending!

Ive spent this week carrying him downstairs to try and get him to sleep on the other settee in the living room. He also shares the dogs bed upstairs so I've been bringing it down into the living room when I'm here and he will sleep in it now. Today I managed to get all three animals in the living room asleep for about an hour and a half 🎉🎉🎉Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
I so hope he can stay. Lots of fuss & strokes for your other cat, & a few treats when she spends time in the same room? New cat is probably not biting & scratching because he is feeling much happier.

Your cat sounds like they feel welcome at your home and are relaxed . It sounds like you have forgiven him for hurting your eye . Are you starting having your grandchildren in September? How is DD2 finding her job ?Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.3

How did it go with them being outside? I hope they were ok as it does sound like he is very settled. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Currently on house arrest due to developing a nasty cough. I was supposed to work yesterday but phoned work for advice because I had an awful cough and had practically lost my voice so my matron told me not to come in and she would refer me to the covid absence hub for advice, I told her I didn't have any other symptoms apart from a headache but I couldn't stop coughing so couldn't go in. I'm now waiting for a test which I've just found out is being done tomorrow, I had to contact DD 2 at work to tell her to speak to her boss because she also has to self isolate 🙄so she was sent home, we can't go out at all not even to walk B so I'm just letting her out in the garden. It's so annoying because I'm quite certain I just have a chest infection, I've also got three days off and had nice things planned which I've had to cancel 😟
In other news I've just spent the last few days reading my whole diary. I was inspired to read it after getting a message from someone who said they found it inspiring, I don't understand this so thought I would have a read, this is what I have taken away from the experience
1= I'm always either getting a cold or getting over a cold
2= I spend all my time doing housework and not much else
3= I've had lots of really good ideas over the last two years but I've hardly implemented any of them
4= I keep saying I'm going to do the same old things over and over but still haven't done them
5= I still haven't finished decorating the flaming bathroom but I've decided to decorate the rest of the house as well
6= I chose Finish as my word of the year this year and so far I'm not sure I've finished anything 😂😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
Sorry about your cough and isolation. I love your summary...pretty much like my diary. I gave up in the end (a written one) as all I was doing was venting things I couldn’t say out loud! It was a book full of violent complaints and grumbles 😂. The only positive thing was listing all the books I read and finding out how many I read in a year (64), which I hope to beat this year! Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
