Sun_Addict said:Cats do make me laugh. We had a male and female cat a few years ago who didn't get on. The female cat bossed the male about and would often take a swipe at him. One day she went up to him and started washing his head, it was so funny, the expression on his face, he was too scared to move 🤣Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942

I'm defrosting my freezer today so sitting here listening to chunks of ice falling off.DD did us both an online shop on Sunday night and that is due on Wednesday evening. I've bought the bits I need to make the meals I listed earlier apart from the Leek croustade and the Gnocchi bake because they are made with fresh ingredients, we also bought the heavy and awkward things like cat litter, wash powder and fabric conditioner and I treated us to a pack of 16 loo rolls 😀,I wanted 24 but they didn't have any 🙄
I need to hoover today so will be doing that in a bit and I might take a pair of DDs work trousers up for her while listening to a podcast later
Im wishing the weather would make up its mind, it's sunny one minute then raining the next ,I have washing to peg out but I don't know whether to chance it or not .........don't I lead an exciting life 😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -
I know the feeling. I did the hoovering, washing and ordered the online shop for next week today. Hardly fun, but essential work.
Hope you had a relax and chill time though xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Just catching up and intrigued by your 'new' cat adventures. We always had cats when I grew up and I ended up subscribed to the Cats Protection League newsletter (despite not being able to have cats now as family members have allergies). Anyway the other week I fell down a rabbit hole on their blog, learning how to position items in the house so the cat (s) feel secure. You may have seen it already but it was all new to me and I was proud enough to show DH when I finally got everything in suitable places! I vaguely remember the instructions are to have one of everything per animal plus a spare, and keep items away from each other (e.g. water bowl away from scratching post). I'm wondering if the cat was somehow stressed in the previous house as it seems happier now.
Anyway it's great you are giving it a chance and it seems to have taken to you!

I feel really guilty because when DD moved out I made her take the cat with her, after he managed to put his claw through my eyelid I was scared of him so thought it best if he went to live with them. They got a puppy shortly after moving so he had to contend with a new house and a puppy then they had their first baby and suddenly he was pushed aside because they didn't have time for him. Now they have the second baby who is cruising round the furniture they have to keep the cat locked away, he was spending all his time either locked in the downstairs bathroom or outside. I kept saying I would take him home with me but my DD wouldn't let me, I don't think she thought I meant it. After he seriously scratched the baby's face last week she had no choice but to re home him
He now has a clean tray at all times ,his own space for his food and water, the run of my house apart from the bedrooms and a lovely new snuggly comfy bed, he hasn't really been upstairs much,he prefers to sleep either on the settee next to me or in his bed which is in front of one of my radiators in the living room. He talks ( meows) to me when he's awake so I spend a lot of time chatting to him
He won't be going back if I can help it 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
You sound like the perfect cat owner! He just wants a quiet life, space and some TLC
. I wonder if his earlier behaviour, when he initially attacked your eyelid, was because there were more people around than he could cope with? Yet he is more relaxed even with several other people/pets around him now, so perhaps it was something else.

It certainly sounds like his behaviour was more because of circumstances rather than a built in grump! Cats hate dirty trays and are very particular. I can't hear the smell, once one has gone I have to scoop straight away. But one of my clients leaves the tray until it is horrific. I couldn't have that in the house.
Glad he is settling better now, sounds like everyone wins.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉3 -
