My journey to a debt free life

Forgot my exciting news 😀 I treated myself to a new linen basket today,I've been after a new one for ages but the ones I looked at were too expensive, they had one exactly like the ones I've been eying up reduced from £16 to £8 in Mr S, it's a grey woven plastic one with a lid, the lid is the most important bit because it will stop the cat from sleeping in our dirty washing. The ones is was checking out last year were £25 and there was no way I was spending that. The one it's replacing is made out of hessian and had a lid that just folded our the top,it was pretty for about a week, then the cat discovered it made a brilliant scratching post and ripped the outside to shreds, the lid was bent because he tried to sleep on it so it folded inside and was ruined. The new basket has a hard plastic lid which won't be very comfortable at all 🙀

Brill purchase. Plus more difficult for the cat.
It is so hot and humid and I had a nap on the sofa earlier as I got very little sleep last night too.
The balance between doing what you like and saving//debt paying is tough. Hopefully you'll strike a good one for you that gives you the enjoyment and down time after work at the same time as not feeling guilty. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

If you can strike a balance between your riding, which you love, and saving, which is sensible, that would be brilliant. Could you do 50/50? Life is too short and we never know what’s round the corner. Party tea with Prosecco sounds fabulous 🥂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Trying to sleep is a nightmare at the moment, I'm just glad I'm on holiday so I don't have to get up early,I'm hoping it will cool down a bit next week when I go backOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -

I went to bed fairly early for me last night because I felt rough 😟took loads of painkillers and just laid on top of my bed naked with the window open and no covers on 😂😂( sorry TMI 😀) I didn't even shut my curtains so the non existent breeze could come through the window, I still couldn't sleep and just lay there watching the sky turning different colours as the night went on, I was sure at about 8ish that it was going to rain because it went very dark and a wind got up but nothing happened
Today I feel slightly better and not as tired as I should be, it's hot as hell again today so I haven't achieved much so far. I have stolen/ borrowed DDs fan from her bedroom and have that on in front of the settee so when I sit down I can cool off, we tried to buy another one yesterday but they were sold out 🙀 so far I've pegged out some washing that's just never ending, and cleaned the kitchen,I went to bed last night and left the kitchen in a mess so it looked awful this morning ,it looks lovely again now 😊
The cat has managed to tip some of his litter tray over so I need to clean that up now, I wasn't going to hoover today either, luckily I need to change the bag so can do that after. I am literally doing a job and then sitting in front of the fan until I cool down enough to do the next thing
I also took B outside and gave her a good brush, I have a silicone mitten with knobbly bits on it that really gets the hair out so I gave her a good going over with that, she is moulting so badly but is nice and shiny now,I think I collected enough hair to make another dog, its like tumbleweed rolling round the garden

Yay we have had rolling thunder for the last half an hour,it literally hasn't stopped,no lightening and only a small shower of rain but there is a nice little breeze blowing through the house now ,I went out and stood in the rain in my vest top and shorts.......it's was lovely. The cat is asleep on the sofa and B is pacing round the house, she keeps going to look out the back door to see what the noise is. I've not noticed her getting nervous around thunder but then we don't normally get big storms here anymore, the 🐓🐓are hiding under the hedge, I've tried telling them that's not the safest place to be but they just gave me the " you don't know what you're on about " look😀
Despite being too hot I've also managed to hoover the house and dust downstairs so everywhere looks civilised again now 😀I also stripped my bed and got that in the wash so have new sheets to look forward to tonight

Morning,
I think you need to keep up the riding and not feel guilty about it. It is obviously something that you love and I would see it as an investment in your own mental health and well being.
It has been unbelievably hot and sleeping is difficult. Sorry about the pain as well.
I haven't bothered with the fan as it seems to just be pushing hot air around the room. I am lucky that my living room stays cool during the day if I keep the doors from the other rooms closed.
Have a lovely day today. Hopefully it is cooler where you are today. It is here. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

I have expanded my furry family today. Whenever I go to DD1s house I always joke that I'm going to take the cat home with me because he was quite obviously not happy. Anyway she messaged me last night to ask if I wanted to rehome him because he had badly scratched the baby's face narrowly missing his eye so my son in law was threatening to make him live outside. I told them I would take him on a trial basis to see how B and our other cat get on with him.
This cat is the half brother of our cat and we got them both as kittens, one for each DD,when DD1 moved out she took her cat with her and he has been with her for 7 years I'm not sure if he remembers living here but he doesn't remember his half brother, he has met B before when I've taken her to their house. It's fair to say I am scared of him because he will scratch and bite without any provocation. When he was still living here he lashed out at me and put his claw through my eyelid when I tried to pick him up one night,I still have a scar from that, after that I never touched him again if I could get away with it,you might be thinking I'm bonkers for taking him in but I know there is nowhere else he can go and I don't want him to end up in a rescue place, I will give him a fair trial and see how we get on, he will tolerate the odd head rub but that's it, bizarrely he has slept next me on the sofa nearly all day, when I've left the room to go and do something he goes and hides under the table but comes back as soon as I sit down,I'm ok so long as I don't touch him 🙀🙀I must be absolutely bonkers
