I’m with @Nicnak and struggle to save. I’m a big one for putting into pots and pulling it back out again in a matter of days...sigh! @Sun_Addict you are so good and an inspiration. I have opened a savings account away from my normal accounts that takes a day to transfer back, I’m hoping it will stop me dipping in.
I used to struggle to save and I'm no angel now. I do find though that once the money has gone into savings I don't like to take it back out again. I saved up for Christmas last year and thought that because I had the money saved up I would be organised and have my shopping done early, in the end it was still the same mad rush simply because having saved up all that money I just didn't want to spend it 😀😀

I went for a lovely hack today and got to ride a different horse,Dougal was on a date with someone else🙀🙀so today I got to ride a mare called Freckles, she is the same height as Dougal but not as wide so was quite comfy for my little legs . The girl taking us out did warn me that she was more forward going than Dougal ( translates to fast 🙀) anyway we had our first canter across one of the fields belonging to the stables so I got a taste of how fast she was then, it was exhilarating to say the least, then while we were out on the bridle path we had another canter and she really took off🙀🙀🙀it was brilliant fun although I did struggle not to poop my pants at one point 😂😂😂. She is definitely a sparky ride and I loved it because I am a bit of a speed freak when riding. I do hope I get to ride her again at some point but I remain loyal to Dougal because he is just so cute 😀

In amongst to horsey fun I also managed to do a load of washing and get it dry and clean out the 🐓🐓
I was going to do the ironing when I got back but my right shoulder, elbow and wrist are playing up today and I was in too much pain to do it, im right handed and I think the repetitive motion of ironing would have aggravated it, of course riding earlier in the day wouldn't have had any ill effects at all 🙄

There certainly isn't anything like it for cheering me up,I just wish I could do it whenever I like, I wouldn't need anti depressants then 😊

  • It would be lovely to be wealthy enough to have your own horses and ride them whenever you wanted. Glad you enjoyed your ride.

I hope your shoulder and arm improve.

  • Thank you for mentioning the savings thread. I had a look and was amazed at how much people are able to save. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how much opening the Help to Save account has focused by mind on saving. Knowing that I can save £50 in each month but if I don’t I’ve missed the chance until next month, seems to have sharpened my focus!

I forgot to say that on Saturday I met my mum in town for lunch. We decided to give it a go to see how it went now that some of the cafes are open. It was lovely to do something normal for a change 😊the only downside was that it was too hot for both of us. My lovely Mum also gave me an envelope of money to treat myself, I tried arguing as normal to tell her I didn't need it but she wouldn't take no for an answer. When I got home and looked inside there was £200 in there 🙀🙀so that's going straight into my house saving fund,I'm not wasting it on fripperies. My first project is the floors so I now have £300 saved towards that, I'm paying it in tomorrow when I go into town 😊
