Good idea to have your friend walk the dog once a day. Our dog is used to having someone with her 24-7 so when we go on holiday DD tries to book the week off work.
She was used to us going to work before the lockdown happened and did come from a home where she was left at home while they were at work, we struggled leaving her when she first came here but that was because it was a new place. Yesterday was the first day she was on her own all day and DD said she was asleep when she got home but did get very excited once she realised DD was home, luckily she is very good in the house. I'm going to keep and eye on things and see how it goes, I have four days off a week so depending on when I work it will be just one day where she is on her own for a full day so it might be that we get our friend in on that day 😊

Your DD's job sounds really interesting, and also an area where I imagine there are likely to be plenty of opportunities in the near future. I hope she soon settles in.
I hope the dog settles, too. Does it help to leave a TV or radio on? The idea of having the dog walker come in is probably a good one (I don't know much about dogs) but I suppose its hard to explain these things to a pet who's had someone at home for so long.
There is lots scope for different opportunities in DDs job,she actually wants to work with people who have brain injuries and neurological disorders but went for this job now because it's a rotation so she gets to try out lots of different areas,it's a good way of finding out what you do and don't like.

I might start leaving the radio on for B ,I used to leave the tv on but had to be careful it wasn't left on a  channel that might show programmes that involved people shouting at each other because she doesn't like people shouting or getting angry ,it make her really anxious, her previous owners had a very volatile relationship where there was lots of shouty rows with things being thrown, if we get loud when we are talking even if it's funny she will go and hide upstairs, I can't shout at the tv if she is in the room with me because she gets upset, I used to leave the children's channels on for her and she seemed ok with that 😀

One day last week I had a headache and sore throat, it only lasted a day so hopefully DD will be fine. Only natural to automatically worry that it’s the virus.

Glad you enjoyed the little party and hope DD is ok . My friend always leaves the radio on for her dog , she says the dog enjoys Radio 2 . I dread to think how she has come to that conclusion 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I can see your dog developing a taste for Classic FM :)
    Hope your daughter's okay.

I have seen a lot of people get to the shop and realise. I think it will take a little whole for people to get used to it and remember it with their normal going to the shop things.
I hope DD2 feels better soon. I remember that whenever I have started a new job, I have ended up with a cold and it seems to be because of the new environment, exposed to new germs. It's a thing we always say as teachers. New group of children, new cold. Not sure whether there is any evidence behind it though. Probably just an old tale.

Poor B with her previous owners. It must really have scared her as a puppy. Leaving the radio on might feel like a bit of company for her, which will be great. x
I remembered my mask today but that's because  got into the habit of wearing it on the bus. The new germ thing happens in hospitals too,I think it is a genuine phenomenon, when I first started working at the hospital I was so ill for the first year it was ridiculous. When I swapped jobs to work on the children's ward I went through it again🙀DD has worked at this hospital before but in orthopaedics she was ill when she started that job, she is now working on a respiratory ward so will probability pick up some lurgies until she gets used to it

I think Bs previous owner loved her dearly but he and his wife did not get on towards the end of their marriage so there were lots of fights 😟

We both keep getting weird little sore throats and headaches that only last for a day or so,she said she felt a lot better when I got home yesterday so that's good news 😊

DD said she felt a lot better when I got home from work last night, she has gone to work today so I will see how she is when she gets home.........😂 at your friend presuming her dog likes radio 2 , I know B doesn't like shouty tv programmes or films because she leaves the room and goes to hide upstairs 😟
