I am wary of cows when out walking as I know lots of people who have been chased by them.. I think it is mainly in calving season they are protective. I always give them a wide berth and if possible I would rather find another route if they are in my way. I did some new footpaths today and that took me through a field of horses which was lovely. I love horses.
The branded litter is annoying but it is the people dropping the litter I blame. As it mainly seems to be in parks that it is the issue I think it may be teenagers too. We should be instilling into our children and grandchildren that we have to look after our countryside. I ranted yesterday when I had my grandchildren in the local park that there were lots of naughty people dropping their rubbish instead of taking it home. I am going to the beach tomorrow and arming myself with a plastic bag to pick up litter to take home.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Horses are usually fairly safe, I did own a loony pony once though that would randomly attack me 🙀I got a call from the farmer who had cows in the field next to her one day to say I had to come down and get her because she had got into his field and caused his herd of cows to stampede into the local river🙀🙀 I was heavily pregnant at the time and was petrified she was going to hurt me. I sold her to someone who was experienced in training deranged horses for £50 just so they would take her, she was worth much more than that. The next time I saw here she was being ridden but a 6 year old child 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8946 -
@Onebrokelady coming out of lurkerdom to congratulate you, and say how much I enjoy your diary. Late to the swan party, but one anecdote I must share with you goes back to the days when I organised an outdoor event. One of the stall holders managed to get into a fight with a swan, which only calmed down when 1 women approached him, on hearing him threaten to eat the bird! He was running through all the different cooking methods out loud, mulling over which would be best, when they identified themselves as members of the Swan Protection League. Not common-or-garden, everyday members either; that would have been worrying enough, but they sat on the committee! He was in big trouble; we had to assess whether to call an ambulance, such was his panic! Enjoy the weather and keep going on your magnificent journey love Humdinger x6

How did he manage to get into fight with a swan 😀 A man was charged with animal cruelty here when he beat a swan to death on our local quay, apparently witnesses said he went crazy, if I had been there I would have pushed him in the river to stop him, no one stepped in they all just watched. I wouldn't have been able to stand there and watch 😡Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8944 -
I'm very confused about yesterday's press conference
Boris said we can have another household come to visit us inside or out from the 4th of July and this meant that grandparents would be able to see their grandchildren, but he also said we had to maintain social distancing at the same time. My DGC are too young to understand social distancing so I took that to mean they wouldn't be able to come and visit.
Today I got a text from DD1 saying I can now look after the grandchildren so did I want to start looking after them again and I said no because of the social distancing rule and that it would be impossible for me to maintain my distance while looking after them. She is now in a strop on with me 😟and I'm now wondering if I've got it wrong. I am sure they said you still had to keep your distance even if another household came to visit, did anyone else watch and what did you thinkOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8947 -
I think you're probably right OBL, if children aren't able to understand social distancing then thy can't conform to those rules.

My understanding is that members of two households can now meet up in each other's houses, but that social distancing of 1 metre plus (2m preferable) should still be observed.
I don't think I've misunderstood that, but it's possible as there are rather a lot of grey areas which aren't always explained with the level of clarity we all need.

My understanding is that hugs and contact is fine if you have formed a 'social bubble' with one household and a single person. Meeting another household inside still means social distancing.
We can now go around my friends house for a vodka night (do it every three months or so!) But need to socially distance while there as much as possible. Good job we are not huggers in general tbh. If you choose to look after your grandchildren I don't see an issue, and I do think some grandparents who are not working and are perhaps a bit younger than 70 with no other health issues are choosing to do so.
However you are not a single household, and work in a high risk environment, so meeting up with another household you would still need to observe social distancing.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉4 -
It's a bit of a mess really. Boris and co. did say that if you visit another household you had to observe social distancing, yet later he specifically said that friends and family could start to resume childcare again. I'll see if I can dig out a reference to that.
So I'm not sure where that leaves you...2
