My journey to a debt free life

The trouble is the youngsters think they are immune but it doesnt seem to occur to them whilst they not get a serious version of covid19 they can be a carrier and infect their parents, grandparents etc. My real question is what are parents doing to stop the behaviour. It seems to me in many cases not a lot. It goes with the attitude I will let my son/daughter out on their bikes in the dark with no lights but complain like anything when they are injured. I know all kids can be thoughtless and I am a grumpy old woman but there does appear to be a complete lack of control by some parents.Personally I am very grateful to all our key workers for all the hard work they have done over the last weeks. I travelled on the train last week to see a relative who has no family or friends nearby so has been on his own since March. (His wife died April of last year) and found having to wear a mask for about 31/2 hours to be a very unpleasant experience and it was no where near as hot then so I have every sympathy with all those who have to wear them for long periods. Once again I can only say THANK YOU.6

Unfortunately there are a lot of feral people out there who are ruining it for those of us who are complying with the lockdown rules. They don't have any respect for anything or anyone other than fulfilling their own needs.
I've been fortunate enough to not be in a situation where I need to wear a face mask up to now but know it's looming on the horizon. I really do sympathise with you having to wear one for long periods of time especially in this heat.
I am also very grateful to all the key workers out there who have made sure we keep safe and have enough food, etc during the past few weeks. I'm classed as a key worker but can fortunately do my job from the comfort of my home, for that I am extremely grateful.

I have had to wear a mask at a couple of clients, and omg it is awful! Mum made us some cloth ones as if my hubby does eventually go back to the office he will need to go on the train (he had never learnt to drive). He is the kind of person who is always hot so the heat affects him badly. We wore masks when we viewed some kittens this week, we were there around 40mins and he was really struggling. He will wear it as he has no choice, but I know it will be hard.
People seem to really have no idea how to behave ATM. I am seriously worried about my teen girl. She is really really down and struggling. But at no point has she thought to just go out and get together in a big group which is a relief. She is pretty sensible, but the enforced isolation at her age is really beginning to become too much. She is desperate for a part time job, so we will be trying to find some this weekend, but as she is only 16 and with so many people losing jobs I think it will be an uphill struggle.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉5 -
Those scenes in Plymouth were horrendous weren't they? 😡😱. I feel so sorry for people who live there and were trying to sleep and for the police who have to deal with them! The police are going to crack down on outdoor drinking there now apparently, but they were a bit overwhelmed because they weren't expecting so many people and such appalling behaviour. It's a small minority but they give all young people a bad name, which is unfair on the polite well behaved young people.
I think that if you don't feel safe looking after your DGC then you shouldn't do it. It's your decision and you do work in a high risk job and it's perfectly reasonable to want to keep yourself safe when you're not at work. Because I put myself at risk at school I'm extra careful the rest of the time about social distancing.
I feel really sorry for you wearing a mask in such hot weather. I'm not allowed to wear a mask at school and I don't know whether to be pleased or not about that 🤔. It would protect me but I'm not sure I could get through the day especially in hot weather. I wore a cloth mask to the supermarket yesterday and it made me so hot that I was glad to take it off when I came out 😩.
I hope you enjoy the cooler weather this weekend 🙂.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

This is one of the reasons I get so annoyed, your daughter is being sensible and following the rules but is suffering for it, and others just carry on regardless.Does she have a friend who could visit in the garden maybe,at least we only have until the 4th of July to go until we can have visitors in our houses, maybe she could invite someone round to visit then 😊
I hope you manage to find something for her but like you say it's not a good time at the momentOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -

I've decided not to have the DGC yet because I don't think it's safe and my DD does have a habit of bringing them even if they are ill so I'm going to wait and review again at the end of August, I think we will start to see the effects of the more relaxed lockdown by then. I think with my job it's too risky at the moment. I'm trying my best not to get ill myself so I don't have to be off work, when my DD met with me for our walk last week she had the most horrendous cough but she came anyway 🙀I had to speak to my boss to see if they wanted me at work or not, they told me to come in anyway because she only had a cough and no other symptoms but you just don't know do you. I wasn't very happy about it but don't feel like I can say anything because it will cause an argument 😟. I haven't heard from her since I told her I wouldn't have the DGC,but then she quite often only contacts me if she wants something 😟
The weather today is lovely,it's so much cooler than it was 😀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8946 -
The drunken scenes and public urination and dropping of rubbish on the Barbican in Plymouth is just heartbreaking. We live close to Plymouth and when working I would often walk down to the Hoe and Barbican in my lunch break and it is beautiful. I feel sorry for the residents. The brawl on Exmouth beach was awful too. Good job the weather has changed and they are less likely to congregate. I cannot imagine my girls at that age behaving like that so wonder what sort of parenting these youngsters have had. I am not sure what the answer is.
I have not had to wear a mask yet as I don't go into shops or use public transport.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Lovely day at work yesterday, I worked between two departments so it was a bit of variety, the day went by really quickly. I walked into town along my new route, it's down a nice road that has some nice shops on it, it's a lovely residential area but it's quite posh with a mix of housing, craft shops, trendy cafes and Deli shops, I like to look in the window on my way past at all the things I can't afford to buy 😀the old route took me down a busy main road into town which was boring, I enjoy my walk home now, it was a really nice evening too 😊
Today I made myself get up at 9 instead of lounging in bed until 10ish. We had to go into town and I didn't want to go in late. DD bought a duvet cover from Next but it was faulty so we had to return that.I needed a couple of bits from Boots and also a birthday card and voucher for my friend who's birthday is on Tuesday, I wanted to get her a voucher for Joules but sadly it looks like our shop has closed down permanently , she doesn't like shopping online so I got her one from M&S instead as she likes it in there as well and goes in often. I also had to go to Wilkos for worms because the 🐓🐓 were running dangerously low and there would be a riot if I ran out.Worms are my main bribe when I need to get them back into the run in a hurry 😀
When I got home I sat down with a coffee and decided to check FB to see what was going on and my naughty sister had shared a page for someone who breeds and sells Shire and Clydesdale horses so I spent a looooong time looking at photos of cute Clydesdale yearlings that I can't afford to buy 😀 Sadly Shires and Clydesdales in particular are now classed as a rare breed, I can't believe they are on the same list as Giant Pandas for rarity 🙀🙀🙀they are in real danger of dying out altogether, both me and my sister have a real soft spot for both breeds which has got worse since we found out how good they are for riding 😀I also love the Suffolk Punch breed but they are even rarer I think. There was a lady on the page who had bought her first horse at 65 so I got excited and decided that when I retire I know what I'm going to be spending some of my lump sum on 😂😂Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8946
