Our bin collections have been fortnightly for a few years now, you’re lucky it’s only just happened to you. It’s a pain especially in the summer and is why I have my bin sanitised once a month.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

They have been trying to do it for years, this pandemic has been an excuse to do it, supposed to be temporary, I doubt it will go back to every week. Atm I am getting one of the teens to wash it out after being emptied.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2

Like you I am dismayed at some people's behaviour since the lockdown restrictions eased and we have the same level of not following guidelines, drinking and anti social behaviour in our local town which is not too far from yours. We met our DD2 and her family for a picnic yesterday morning down by our river and my son in law and I spent 15 minutes picking up other people's litter to take home. All of us, the 2 year old DGD2 included were appalled at why people do this. It is a real bugbear of mine now.
I hope you managed to miss the rain. We were ok in the morning but it tipped it down after lunch and through the evening.
I am so fed up with people's behaviour lately. They just don't care at all about their surroundings. I hate it when people leave litter, if there's no bin just take it home with you 😡
I'm intrigued now as to where your Town is😀I'm so nosy 😀
We had rain to start with today but it stopped after about 10 minutes and was lovely and sunny for most of the day 😊
I heard there may be a heat wave next week so hopefully not as much rain as the last week.
Ahhh your not next door to me then😀I love Cornwall and would have liked to live there if I'd had the choice.
Ive heard we rare getting a heatwave next week, part of me is pleased because I can peg my washing out 😂 but part of me is dreading it because work will be unbearable if it's hot.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -

My theory is that all the litter louts would normally be in the pub, but are now going to beauty spots for something to do 😡.
It was nice seeing him though 😊
That's a good point about the litter louts, I hadn't thought of that 🙄Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -
Sun_Addict said:I spotted a bloke out of my bedroom window this morning coming off the park with his kids. He had a carrier bag full of rubbish which he stood emptying into the litter bin, which is good to a point, but why didn't he just take the bag back home and put it in his own bin! I've noticed that the majority of litter louts on our park are boys in their early teens who use the skateboard park, they even throw litter down right by the bins!

Today got off to a slow start. I got up at 9 am and was intending to get a start on my day, I got as far as going to the loo and cleaning my teeth when I realised I felt exhausted so I went back to bed 🙀. I woke up again at 11.30 and although I still didn't feel great I made myself get up 😀
I chucked a load of washing on then had breakfast while I read my book, then I took B out for a walk, came back and read some more, tidied the kitchen then read some more, did the ironing and read some more, hoovered and finished my book 😀 I cooked tea and then took B out again then came home and cleaned the bathroom before having a nice hot shower and siting down to chill out and catch up on here. I am so tired though so will be going to bed in a minute. I'm working tomorrow but I've got a lift with a colleague so I can get up at 6am instead of 5.30am, hopefully we won't get in trouble for sharing the car, it's a bit ridiculous that we aren't allowed to travel together but we can stand inches away from each other while caring for a patient 🙄Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
Hope your energy levels are better today, OBL. Re the litter debate. I am always grimly fascinated as to the origins of the litter. Around our part of the county, a depressing amount of it seems to be KFC & Macdonalds litter. If you see big chunks of litter on the road, it is often their wrappings & drinks containers where people have called in to pick up food then chucked all the rubbish out of the car window on the way home. We went to one of our favourite lakeside parks just before lockdown & I'd never seen the carpark so bad for litter. Almost all of it was branded litter from those two outlets, where people had collected food, eaten it in beautiful woodland full of birdsong & wildlife, then thrown all the packaging down on the ground. There are bins fairly nearby but if a short walk across the carpark was too tiring or required overmuch in navigational skills, why not take the rubbish home & bin it?
The other litter there was a couple of cups from another takeaway brand & a plastic takeaway sandwich packet. I think fast food outlets generate a really unacceptable amount of litter & also seem to attract too many people who are unacquainted with the concept of bins.
I treasure green spaces & it really winds me up!

Our waste bins are emptied every three weeks. It really is a nightmare some weeks if you have something extra. Mine is absolutely full at the minute and due out tomorrow. I still need to put the bin from the kitchen in there too.
Sorry you still felt exhausted. Hope you are ok. xSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
