Well I've certainly had a productive day, my bedding was dry by 2pm so I got it back in and ironed it, while I had the iron out I thought I might as well iron the mountain of clothes in the spare room,I hoovered downstairs and even moved all the furniture in the living room ,I took all the seat cushions off both settees and hoovered them,I hoovered upstairs too and dusted my bedroom,I've remade my bed with the set that I took off this morning, the second load of washing i pegged out was dry by tea time so that has now been ironed, it's all been put away, the kitchen has been cleaned and tidied for a second time, the 🐓🐓have been cleaned out and I've washed and pegged out Bs dog blankets, took B for a second walk ( naughty going out twice but DD is not feeling too good ) and now I'm chilling out for the evening before my programme starts

Tomorrow all I have to do is clean the bathroom and that will be all my jobs done in the house. I'm thinking if it's a nice day tomorrow I might get out in the garden and do some more tidying, the patio needs sweeping again and where my whirly washing line is right at the top of the garden could do with weeding, there is also a very large hedge that has got quite overgrown so I might give that a quick trim too, there's some brambles in this hedge that I've been doing battle with since I moved here, one of them keeps catching on the washing line so it need to be got rid of before it catches on any of our clothes

Thats my day in a nutshell,I'm hoping after all this activity I will sleep well tonight 😊

I struggled to get vitamins today so might try H&B didn't think to try them.

It must be so tough finding out your colleague has  had it and then knowing you are coming into contact with patients who might have it as well. I hope you are ok with it all.
Sounds like you got lots done today though. Take care x

  • I hope you stay safe at work OBL.

I'm a bit worried about bringing the infection home from school (although I know school is a lot safer than a hospital). One of the teachers says she wears crocs and washes them when she gets home, takes a cloth bag instead of a handbag so she can put it in the washing machine every day and take her clothes off as soon as she gets inside the front door! I do change as soon as I get home and wear clean clothes every day and today I wiped over my handbag and the contents with an antibac wipe. But I think I'll copy her idea of using a cloth bag as a handbag. I also wash my hair every evening when I'm at school, instead of my normal twice a week. I wiped the door handles too with an antibac wipe after I got home. Is there any infection control that I'm missing?

You've got loads of housework and washing done today :). I think when the sun is shining we feel more motivated to do things.
I think what you are doing re infection control is enough, the cloth bag is a good idea, we have to get changed at work and have been told to put our uniforms into a cotton bag to take home then put them straight into the wash on am 60 degree cycle with no other clothes, I bring mine home and put them in a plastic bag until the end of my week when I wash all three uniforms and the bags I carried them home in,I also have a shower and wash my hair as soon as I get in, I don't even stop to talk to DD or pet B now I just head straight for the shower, I have always showered when coming home from work anyway because it's so hot on my ward I get sweaty on an 12 hour shift

Ive got loads done today,we bought some new vitamins from H&B online and they have a large amount of iron in them,I've been taking them for a few days so I'm wondering if that's why my energy levels have gone up, they actually smell and taste disgusting but if they work I will take them, they are for vegans so contain a big range of B vits  as well which is also good for energy ,I have chronic anaemia of unknown cause so should take iron tablets all the time but they make me feel sick so I don't take them, these vitamins seem to be ok though
Thanks OBL that's really useful to know :).

I can't either Hairy, I've felt so lethargic over the last couple of weeks but today I was bursting with energy, the other thought I've had is that I really need to keep on top of things because if I get ill I don't want the house to be a mess, I'm planning on keeping this up now I've got on top of my jobs so if I do have any downtime things will be under control here at home 😊

I must admit it's a bit nerve wracking, I've been fine with it up until yesterday, we all got a short sharp lesson on just how easy it is for this thing to spread yesterday,no one thought for one minute that the patient we tested would be positive, we only did it because we have to test all inpatients now, I wonder now if that patient will develop symptoms over the next couple of weeks, I felt so sorry for them, to come in to hospital for one thing only to be told you have this virus must be a shock, hopefully they will be ok

Im trying not to spend too much time thinking about it and I've stopped watching news reports about it now, I do like to watch the news once a day but it's all they ever talk about so I'm going to give it a miss for a while

I have had a lovely productive and what felt like a normal day today and was so busy I forgot about the situation for a bit xx

    Sending hugs.

Re vegetable protein - it's easier to get than used to be believed as the body holds onto the amino acids needed to build it over a longer time than was understood previously, so it can amalgamate them over a while, they don't all need to be taken at the same meal. Hope that makes sense! There are quite a few resources online, but you will know things like beans and lentils are a good start.
That makes sense, I don't like lentils or beans apart from baked beans and I have to be in the mood to eat them, if this carries on I'm going to bu some vegetarian protein powder to be made into a drink
Nuts? Peanut butter? Peas? Protein powder might be good to have in though, even just for when you are tired and need something that has food value but is quick and easy.
Do you eat eggs? I can't remember if you're vegan.

Oh dear, the police helicopter is circling behind my house,I hate it when this happens because it freaks me out,I've just run around  and checked the doors are locked and closed all the blinds, they were out for ages over my road on Saturday and there were police cars driving up and down, apparently they were looking for an escaped suspect who had left the scene of an accident on Saturday but god knows what they are looking for now

Years ago a young girl was murdered in the field behind my house and I will never forget the police everywhere and the sight of the forensics tent,I now feel very unsafe whenever the helicopter is flying around 😟

How very sad about the murder, it will be one of those things you don't forget.
We had a lot of police around here yesterday: apparently this was also someone on the run, but I don't think the whole county has as many police vehicles as we counted, so I think it was about three keeping going round the block. They were probably dizzy from all the circling. No helicopter though and it all went quiet eventually so presumably either they caught the person or gave up.
