  • I hope work wasn't too manic today and that you feel less unwell in time for Christmas chocolate nom nom. I finally feel more like my old self after feeling tired and unwell for over a week.

Thanks Hairy, my sore throat had gone this morning :j so that was good,I'm still not eating properly,I had my jacket potato at lunch and it just made me feel ill and then I had stomach ache all afternoon, work wasn't too bad for the early part of the day but had started to get busy as I was leaving, our emergency department was back up and overflowing so possibly quite a few children heading our way overnight :(

  • Hi OBL, I hope you are feeling ok now and that the throat is ok.

The NHS is always more over worked at Christmas so let's hope your day was ok today.

Have a lovely Xmas with your grandchildren and family.

I buy Xmas presents through the year. In the back of my spending diary I have a page dedicated to Christmas and jot down what I buy in the months before, works for me.

Thanks SG, my throat felt fine this morning :T work wasn't too bad but was getting hectic as I left this evening,I think we are in for a busy Christmas this year :(

I like your Christmas planning idea,I could adopt that for some of the bits I buy

Have a lovely time yourself xxx

  • Yay, woke up this morning and my sore throat was gone, good old echinacea,I absolutely swear by it and it never lets me down,I just need to get my appetite back now, although I could make this year the year I don't put weight on at Christmas 😀

Work was ok today but was getting busy when I left, all the signs are pointing towards a busy Christmas unfortunately but it could all change between now and Christmas Day so we will see,I actually don't mind a busy day from my point of view but I do feel sorry for the families and children that are stuck with us on Christmas Day,they all get a present and Christmas dinner but it's not the same as being at home,I hear a little girl today asking her dad if Santa would know where to find her if she was still in hospital on Christmas Day 😟

I'm off tomorrow so can have a lie in in the morning, then DD2 has lots of baking to do so no doubt I will be roped into that,I do have to go to the local shop tomorrow because despite going shopping three times in the last week I still forgot to get teabags, I'm also not sure how long the dog food will last I need to weigh it and work it out ,she has a dry diet apart from one meal on Christmas Day and Boxing Day when she gets a special Christmas dinner 😀
She was very naughty this morning,DD had cleaned her hamster out and he lives in a massive Ikea storage box which uses a whole large bag of sawdust, anyway she left the old sawdust in a bin liner but the living room door and I was supposed to take it out to the bin when I left this morning but I forgot  so the dog ripped it open and when DD got up there was sawdust all over the living room floor, she was planning on hoovering today but still :rotfl:

I'm feeling a bit adrift now I've finished my sewing ,it's got to be the quickest sewing project I've ever done,I have another one on the go that I can put back on the frame so might do that tomorrow at some point,I've been sewing it for a couple of years I think,it's Klimts Tree Of Life and it has lots of stitches that are just one colour per stitch so it's lots of re threading the needle which takes time ,to make life easier I bought multiple needles and thread them all up at the same time but it's still fiddly ,I need to get it finished because I have to sew a birth announcement sampler for DGS 2

    God I've wafflled on a bit haven't I :rotfl:

  • Oh my, that hoovering up must have been a chore. I am struggling to contain the sawdust from a small cage in the kitchen!

CI used to spend many a Christmas visiting either a nursing home or hospital when both my nanas were alive. Pretty much every Christmas was the same. Open presents, dressed, visit my nana's at either the home or the hospital, home, dinner and then relax.

Bless that little girl, that's something my little one would ask too.

The sewing project sounds lovely. I am sure she will appreciate your time and effort. x
