  • :bdaycake:Happy Birthday OBL. Hope you have a lovely day pottering and you enjoyed the meal and film last night.

Horrible re the incident at work. We had some sad things happen when I was nursing. I seemed to be able to cope with it when I was younger, I couldn’t now. Hope you enjoy your riding tomorrow.

It's hard when something distressing happens at work: you can't get away from it and confidentiality gets in the way of instinctive talking therapy. :( Does your work have a staff support system that could listen when you need it?

I think the book buying was a great idea: a small treat can help a bit when you're down and it IS nearly your birthday after all.

Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow! x

We are supposed to have debriefing sessions after something like this but they don't always happen,I'm not sure why I was so affected because I wasn't involved in it I only heard about it because the staff were upset and talking about it the next day,it was particularly horrible though I must say :(

Would bark chippings be any good for a chicken pen? I guess you'd need sanitising powder though for long term use.

Hope you have a lovely few days off work.

You can use woodchip in a chickennrun but not bark chipping because they hide all sorts of nasty things, some people do use them but you have to change them quite often or they smell really bad,I use a powered sanitizer called Stalosan in my run,my system is to use sawdust, I out it in their house and which I poo pick every day so it stays really clean, then when I clean the house out that bedding goes out into the run and I put fresh stuff in the house, i only change the run sawdust every month because it's like a deep litter, the old sawdust from the run goes in the compost pile

Thanks Redo, we decided not to go mad with buying stuff anymore seeing as we are decluttering but we make an exception for books, I will probably re home them when I have read them and of course DD will read them too so we both benefit :)
