Thanks Cherry, I'm trying to concentrate on experiences rather than thing since we have been decluttering, my girls ask me if there is anything I would like for birthdays or Xmas and I can never think of anything which leads me to believe I have everything I need, the only thing I don't have is my own horse so riding someone else's is the next best thingOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

What a lovely relaxing day I have had, it's not that nice outside so I have stayed indoors reading nearly all day,I was given the book Circe by Madeline Milller for Mother's Day and I wanted to finish it today, it's a retelling of the story of Odysseus and Circe but from her point of view and I really enjoyed it,I would definitely recommend it if anyone gets the chance to read it
I've had books for my birthday and money for riding from DD2,I haven't heard from DD1 apart from a text to wish me happy birthday but that is par for the course🙄
My lovely mum gave me money as well so but that's going in the flooring fund as that will be a better use for it than any fripperies I could buy myself and apart from riding there is nothing I need or really want ( the thought did occur to me that my savings are actually enough to buy myself a horse, but luckily I'm a reformed character and know that's not a priority :rotfl:)
I also had a gift voucher for M&S from my best friend and I am planning on buying a new bra with that,I have had an on going search for at least a year to find a bra that fits properly,I buy them thinking they look and feel ok in the shop but when I actually wear them on a day to day basis there's always something not quite right
Anyway a couple of weeks ago I went on the M&S website and used their bra size calculator and it told me I should be wearing a 34 G:eek::eek: I was wearing a 38DD:eek::eek: no wonder it didn't fit properly, I didn't believe the calculator and went in to try on my favourite bra in the size it recommended and although I had to go up a band size to a 36 the cups size is perfect,I've never been so comfy in my life :rotfl: so now I need to replace my bras,I bought two and have been alternating them an hand washing them so I've got a clean one to wear all the time but I need a couple more,so I'm off into town next week to get another one,I also need a sports bra in the right size for when I go riding, trotting without a sports bra on is interesting and shouldn't be undertaken now I'm 56 :eek::rotfl:
After today I am also going back on my Slimming World diet, I'm so sad that I've put back on nearly all the weight I lost last year ( just over a stone ) and I really want to get back to my target weight,I actually feel terrible and sluggish because I've just been eating junk and unhealthy food, so I'm taking today to eat up the naughty bits left in the house then I'm not buying anything anymore, of course we have birthday cake here to be eaten but I'm going to cut it up in a minute and put it in the freezer,I'm going to give DD1 and my SIL some when I see her on Tuesday but the rest is being frozen in thin slices to be dished out when I really really need a treat:DOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941 -

Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x0 -
I found getting the right size took a while but like you, once I had it, I knew it was right.
This cutting the rest of the cake up business is very disciplined.I think I would eat some while I was cutting it. Nice to have it to look forward to, though.

Wow I was tired last night,I went to bed at 10.30 and don't remember falling asleep,I did wake up at 1am but went straight back to sleep again and unheard of for me I got up at 7.30 am today:eek: I don't do that when I'm on holiday but I was wide awake
I'm just about to take the dog out for a wander round the block then I'm going riding at 11,I've got to go to the shops on the way back because I need some baby's wipes for DGS tomorrow and I want to get DD1s birthday card and draw the money out for her, her birthday is on Saturday so I will need to give her her card tomorrow, there is an M&S food shop near where I'm going so I can get her card in there,I do like their cards, they are always lovely and not massively expensive like some places
When I get back I'm planning on doing some house and garden jobs,I had some bird feeders to move around because they don't get used where they are and some more rubbish to get rid of from the patio, I still haven't moved the chickens because I'm having trouble levelling the slabs so there are no gaps underneath I think I'm going to have to move them all and start again :eek:Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8940 -
Morning OBL,
Glad you had such a nice birthday. What a good idea to use your birthday money for riding.
I'm with you on the annoying weight creep-back. I think I've mentioned before that I lost loads of weight between 2011 & 2013 (6 stones in total) and had intended to lose another stone. However, since then, I've just kept cycling the same 2 stones back on & off, & have lost count how many times I've gained & lost them! It's infuriating! Much harder to lose weight now I'm a 'woman of a certain age' - I am currently 25lbs above the lowest I got down to. I do well on healthy meals but am a terrible nibbler. And in the same way as silly little frittery spends add up, so do naughty bits of picking at nuts, seeds, crisps, crackers, cheese, etc. I'm planning an angelic 4 days, then will brave the scales again. If I've shifted even another 1lb, it'll be less than I deserve.
Agree with you that eating healthily does wonders for general vitality/energy levels. Nothing flattens out my energy more than a few days of too much junky carbohydrate & sugary stuff. I baked cheese oatcakes yesterday & they are proving a nice sustaining snack & only 50 calories. Just got to make sure I don't keep putting my naughty little hand in the jar.......
I'm sorting the patio today too, but mostly a massive sweep will do it, I think.

Phew I got back just in time,we went out for a lovely ride in brilliant sunshine and then just as I got back to my house it chucked it down, I wasn't wearing a coat so it was good timing
I'm currently riding a horse called Dougal who is a 10 year old chunky cobby type, the girl who took me out today was the person who trained him when he first arrived at the yard,he is lovely but can be stubborn and likes to test you,for instance he made out he was scratching his leg when really it was an excuse to stop and have a snack from the hedgerow,he has a lovely canter though when he gets going, the only downside is he is quite wide across the back so my hips do ache a bit after riding him,I need to stretch my hips though so it will do them good
I'm really beginning to like the new yard now I've gone a few more times, the staff are really friendly and the girl who took me out today was a real chatterbox which I like because I'm not naturally good at starting conversations
Today's outing was an extra treat for my birthday so I'm going again next Monday , after that it will be every other week because I can't afford to go every week at the moment,I will also have to go on a Thursday after next week because I'm working for the next few Mondays
I'm just having a coffee now then I'm going to crack on with my jobs,I I got some washing done before I went out but it's very cloudy so I don't know if it's worth pegging it out or notOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8941
