  • As someone who pruned her cutlery, I will say you will need more knives and teaspoons that you think. We went to 8 of everything, but we are up to around 12 knives and could possibly do with more (family of 6) and I can never find a teaspoon when I need one!

21 is probably excessive for the two of you, but maybe prune to 4,but keep the rest to one side to see how you go.

  • God I'm so angry right now,my DD has been clearing out her room and has decided she doesn't want the bookcase she owns in her room anymore,it's a large bookcase from the Swedish Emporium,I suggested she store it in the loft for when she get her own place as it's a nice solid picas of furniture
So DD being DD and having no patience at all asked me to take it apart the other day,I was knee deep in clearing out my room and other th8ngs so I told her I would do it in a few days, she took the shelves out herself and has been nagging me to help her take it apart all last week,I was illso couldn't do it
She asked me again to help her do it today so I said I would later,in the meantime I've just spent the whole day doing the bathroom ceiling it's taken me all day to get it done and I still haven't finished,my arms are hurting so much from being over my head for lot of the day,I just told her I would do it tomorrow so she has thrown a strop because she doesn't want it in her room anymore
She has been going on about the bathroom for months and now I finally get up the energy to do it she starts on about something else she needs me to do right now,one more night with the bookcase in her room is not going to hurt .............arrrrggghhhhhhh I'm so mad .........I might as well be flaming married

  • Oh dear kids can drive you potty can't they? It doesn't matter how old they are, they can still act like two year olds sometimes . It's lucky we love them :).

Well done on getting so much done on the bathroom ceiling :T and I hope you continue to ward off the lurgy.

I agree that you need more than six of each for cutlery btw. Our teaspoons are always disappearing, I think they get accidentally thrown away, and not by me I might add .

  • Well I've had a busy and productive day today,I made sure I still had a nice lie in first though :D
I've smoothed out the bathroom ceiling so tomorrow I can paint it and hang the light shade,it's looking better already and I'm so glad I have finally got it done,I also cleaned all the walls down and the bathroom door with good old flash that has bleach in it,this stuff is amazing at cutting through any grime,my bathroom is now sparkling, after doing the ceilng im going to sand and then paint the skirting boards, the door just needed cleaning as I had already painted that and it still looks like new
I might even get the floor laid next week if I get all the other bits done this week, the flooring is a pale grey wood effect vinyl and it will look really nice,at the moment it's a pale blue mosaic tile design that is very 90s as that was the last time the floor was changed

You will all be relieved to know that no items left my house today:rotfl: I have however got my eye on some other bits that can go,I just haven't had time to sort them out yet

I also have to disagree on the cutlery debate:DI think six is plenty, I never lose spoons,in fact I seem to aquire them at an alarming rate,I know I've accidentaly brought a couple home from work in my lunch box because they have property of the nhs engraved on them,I'm like a magpie,if it's shiny I collect it:rotfl:

I'm the same with pens, every one at work knows not to leave their pens lying around when I'm there because I will absent mindedly use it then slip it into my pocket:eek:,in my man drawer I have about 30 biros from work that I bring home in my pocket,I'm working my way through them slowly

I know Hairy, she does balance it out by being lovely most of the time but god she fives me nuts sometimes,I think she realised how unreasonable she was being though as she took the dog out without me having to go too and she cooked the tea,she has been perfectly fine since 🙄😂

  • Oops forgot to say, bizzarly I feel ok today,I had a very slight sore thoat when I woke up and have sneezed a couple of times but I feel a lot better, the Echinacea must have done the trick,I felt quite ropey yesterday and thought I was going to have a rough few days but it seems not,so that's a relief

  • Another busy day planned here today,I'm not feeling great though so I'm not sure how much will get done, the list looks like this
    Walk the dog
Take my book back to the library
Top up shop of small items
    Do a load of washing
    Hoover the house
I was also planning to finish the bathroom ceiling today but my arms are really painful so I think it would be wise to wait,I'm off on Thursday and have to stay in all day waiting for a delivery for DD so I could do it then

I haven't got DGS today because his dad is at home so he is having him today, I am missing him but it's quite good timing because I don't feel great today

Right I had better get on with things,if I get all my jobs done I might do some furniture painting for the dolls house later as a reward :)
