Wow it sounds as though you have been very busy while I have been away. Well done on the bathroom. Does sound like DD was being a bit unreasonable expecting you to help her with the book case when you were busy. Glad she has seen the error of her ways and started being nice again.

    Hi,good to see you back
DD does have her moments that's for sure
I'm hoping to finish the bathroom ceiling tomorrow then I can get onto the woodwork and floor

Ouch,I have woken up this morning with a throbbing earache,I hope it's not an infection,I do get earache from time to time and it usually goes away on its own,I've had trouble with my ears since I was a child and had all sorts of procedures done on them,to be honest I think they did more harm than good judging by the state of them now, the eardrum on the ear that's hurting does have some scar tissue on it from when it was perforated so that doesn't help 😢😢

Ooh, earache is the worst....(apart from tooth ache). I find that my sinuses often affect my ears, as I suffer with sinus problems. Burning essential oils can help.

Had to get up early today because DD had a new desk being delivered from the Swedish Emporium,it came while she was still here but sadly I had already got up and was in the shower so I just stayed up
I've had a moderately busy day today starting with taking the dog for a walk,I went to paint the bathroom ceiling with what I thought was a half full tin of paint only to discover it was only about a quarter full so not enough to finish the job,I've painted round the edges and where the light shade will go but I will have to finish's it on Saturday now because I can't get anymore paint until then,it took me ages to do the bits I did do

I also scrubbed my UPVC back door today, although this door looks good the seal that stops the draught coming in had perished,I replaced it about 10 years ago and the replacement seal needed replacing so I did that today,I bought the seal ages ago but it was yet another job I didn't get round to,it's done now so hopefully no more draughts from that door,it's mostly glass and the cat scratches his dirty feet on the door when he wants to come so it had mud all over it,it looks lovely and sparkly now,the chickens came over to watch and were very interested in what was going on,I think they can now their reflection because they were both pecking the glass just now:rotfl:

I also cleaned the chickens out and topped up their food and water so I won't need to do them in the morning andnive got a,load of washing in the machine about to finish ,it's towels so I will dry it in the tumble dryer as I like them to be fluffy and not crispy

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself this evening,I slept really badly last night so I am quite tired and I have work tomorrow so had better not stay up too late,I've got things I could be doing like my sewing or painting furniture but I really can't be bothered to be honest

I've got a couple of old tea towels actually,I didn't think of that,I can channel Lawrence of Arabia while I'm decorating :rotfl:

Hope you can get your matching paint today. When I was sorting at Mum's old place recently I had to chuck the dried up remains of a tin of masonry paint and was thinking I'd have to buy more (I painted the step edges as the neighbour has very limited sight and it helps him when he's there) - then I opened a big pot of paint in the utility room only to find it's the one I need, and still usable. I do wish they'd find some way of making them airtight again, though.

You are making so much progress, and it's inspiring. I love the image of the chickens trying to peck their reflections in the shiny door - I still have plans for chickens but need to think it through more.

Yep I'm still on it,I've indentified some other things to go but I've been too busy over the last few days,I think I will try and get the painting finished in the bathroom then I can put the floor down and declutter the flooring from the spare room, the spare room is almost finished now,I just need to make up my mind on whether to take the bed down or not so I can put the travel cot up in there,or leave the bed in there and carry on putting the travel cot up in my room,DGS is 18 months old now so probably won't be using the travel cot for much longer anyway, the bed in there is wooden though and I want to paint it white so it's going to need to be moved at some point to paint it :)

I'm feeling better today then I was Im just shattered, the earache has gone again so that's all good:j

Thanks Cherry, I'm determined to get the house sorted this year, sitting in my newly decluttered living room is lovely now,it feels so calm without out all the stuff that was here:)
The paint I'm after is a specialist damp proof one, I thought I bought it in Wilkoooos but i looked there today and they don't sell it so it must have been The Range,I'm going to have to go and have a look tomorrow,I'm going to check in the shed first though because there might be some out there,I did read a tip saying to put a layer of clingfilm over the tin before you put the lid on and to store your paint tins upside down to stop them getting a skin on them but I haven't tried it and would be worried about leakages

I'm not sure if I'm going to get more chickens after this lot, last winter was awful and really put me off,but so far this year hasn't been as bad.......frantically touching all the wood :rotfl:.......so I can't make up my mind,I like having my own eggs and knowing where they have come from though soI will have to think about it, they are such funny little characters as well :)
