  • You've got a lot done for someone who was feeling tired :T. You're really motivated by the decluttering aren't you?

I always think that getting your money sorted out always inspires you to sort out the rest of your life, including clutter. You've inspired me to do a bit of decluttering today and I've got a rucksack full of clothes to drop off at the charity shop tomorrow :).

Well done on the decluttering Hairy,I'm glad I was able to motivate you,I'm feeling super motivated at the moment so I'm making the most of it in case it disappears :rotfl:
I'm really enjoying my house at the moment because it's so tidy,I feel I can relax better when everywhere is tidy, decluttering to make cleaning easier is definitely one of my better decisions

I agree that once you start getting organised in one area of your life it does spur you on to sort other areas too

Yay,all my jobs got done today,I was going to make some cookies earlier from a recipe I got in a free magazine but I didn't have any caster sugar so I couldn't make them,I did the ironing instead so another job ticked off
I'm working tomorrow so will be out all day then I have the day off on a Sunday,I'm not sure what I'm doing yet i have the choice of
Doing some more decluttering in the spare room
Making a start on some bits in the bathroom
    Doing some sewing
Painting the furniture I got for the dolls house at Christmas
The last two would be accompanied but listening to a podcast or two

Forgot to say that despite the lack of cookies we didn't miss out on yummy food because DD made an apple crumble which was gorgeous:rotfl:

You have also inspired me to do some decluttering although I have to say I do a big decluttering every April . However today I have got rid of 2 bath mats and some towels . The towels are going to a dog charity .

It was bitterly cold in the school playground this afternoon I couldn't wait to get in DDs with the children.

Has your UTI cleared up now ? I bet you are really tired now with all the work you have done today .

Yay the decluttering bug is spreading :j I normally say I'm going to declutter and just end up getting rid of a few bits and then moving the rest into cupboards where it can't be seen, for some reason I have been feeling stressed out by the thought of all the bits stashed away in my house so I am getting rid of it all,I must say I'm feeling a lot more relaxed now I've got rid of so much stuff
It also ties in with the trying not to spend money on things I don't need,I'm getting rid of lots of things that are totally useless but that I somehow decided I needed even if it caused me to get into debt, like the duck I'm taking to the charity shop,I didn't have money for it but liked it so put it on my credit card,I also didn't have anywhere for it to go so it's been in my way ever since
I felt sad when I thought of it going because it is cute but it's not real,it's a lump of wood and it irritates the hell out of me every time I knock it over:rotfl:
I get a real sentimental attachment to objects that that at the end of the day are just clutter so I'm hardeningm myself and going for it

Curiously I don't feel that tired after all the bits I've done today,I think sitting around not doing much makes me more tired than focusing and getting things done
I am going to chill out now for an hour or so before bed

  • I agree that sitting around makes you feel more tired than being busy, I've often found that. The more I do the more I can do and vice versa.

Housework will definitely be easier without the clutter getting in the way. I'm looking forward to doing some more myself. We get sentimental about some objects but if we don't have room for them then they just get in the way. Also we think some things will be useful one day, but they very rarely are.

Yes that definitely counts, the day I got rid of mine was the best bit of decluttering I've ever done :rotfl:

Had an ok day at work yesterday, when I got home me and DD looked through the drawers in the tv cabinet and one of them was full of old cassette tapes that I recorded myself years ago, they went in the recycling today along with some screen protectors for a phone neither of us owns anymore and a cd instruction manual for the same phone, why the hell were these things still in the drawer, that drawer is now completely empty
We also took the ornaments and some other bits to the charity shop today, altogether this added up to 37 unwanted items donated to the charity shop today
I'm loving the look of my decluttered spaces,I always knocked the wooden duck over when I turned the wall light on and off,I went and turned them on just now and breathed a sigh of relief as my foot didn't knock anything over
I haven't done any of the other things I listed as wanting to do today but I did sit and chill out this afternoon and finish the book I've been reading,I got it for Christmas and although this is the third book I've read since then it seemed to take ages
I've got a library book to read now that I picked up in the week, hopefully it will be as good as it looked when I picked it up
I'm just off now to sort the dogs tea out then take her for a walk
    I might be back later
