My journey to a debt free life

Phew just got back from town and it seems we made it just in time,it's absolutely chucking it down now,it was soooooo cold too
We went and dropped off the stuff that DD sorted out from the kitchen this morning,so that's three vases, a wok, some chopsticks,an alarm clock, a lampshade and three lunch boxes gone out of the house today :j we haven't started on the kitchen properly yet but will be doing it at some point
I'm getting a bit off track, because I haven't finished the spare room yet so I need to get back to that,I'm going to have another go at it tomorrow
Speaking of tomorrow I thought I was working but I just happened to check the calendar this morning and I'm off tomorrow and working Saturday,so I've got two days off again now:j:j
We were very naughty in town just now ,there is a chocolate shop called Choccocco in town so we went there for coffee and ended up having a chocolate cream tea, this is a chocolate chip scone with caramel sauce and clotted cream and a mug of hot chocolate :eek:it was very yummy
I'm just having a quick coffee and then we are repotting some plants DD has in her room,we just bought three 15 litre bags of compost from Wilkooos for £1 each
I was supposed to be bathing the dog today but it's a bit late for her to dry now before her walk later so I'm going to do it tomorrow morning after I've taken her out, then I will need to clean the bathroom and hoover the house etc
I might do the house later after we have done the plants because we are bound to get compost everywhereOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
Your chocolate cream tea sounds lovely, although I'd choose latte over the hot chocolate drink

So it's been snowing all evening here, taking the dog out for her walk was interesting earlier, the pavements were really slippery and it was chucking it down with snow, she was not impressed,I did try out something I read the other day though, apparently if you walk like a penguin you're less likely to fall over,so so walk with your heels together and you feet pointing out sideways, you look like a right idiot but it definitely felt safer :rotfl:
We have repotted all the plants from DDs room but also have a couple more in the house to do now,I don't have any big plastic pots though so will have to buy a couple,I was going to go and have a look in Wilkooos tomorrow but now it's snowed I might stay at home,if it melts tomorrow I will go and have a look
DD has also sorted out some more bits to go to the charity shop,I have just cleared the table of the kitchen bits and now she has put more stuff there:(
That might go tomorrow too if the weather isn't too bad
I'm now sitting here with the heating cranked up with my pjs and big snuggly cardigan on,it's flaming cold out now and it took ages for the house to warm up,it's feels lovely now though
I have been thinking about my bathroom this afternoon,it's hasn't got a radiator in it and hasn't had for several years ,the old one developed a leak so we had to remove it,when I had my boiler replaced I stupidly didn't get them to replace the radiator in the bathroom as I was trying to keep the costs down, but now I have the council tax refund I'm seriously thinking of finding out how much it would cost to add a small radiator to the bathroom,it's not far from the actual boiler so the pipe work wouldn't have far to go, its freezing in my bathroom in the winter and I think it would also help to stop the room going mouldy tooOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
I love the penguin walk OBL I might have to try that tomorrow if it's still snowy :rotfl:.
Your bathroom must be freezing without a radiator . It might be worth just getting a quote and seeing if the rebate will cover it.Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Forgot to mention earlier that I got some Quorn chicken pieces for £1 a bag today,it's only the small bags but one of them does a curry for me that will make four portions so I bought some for the freezer
I also got my mortgage statement yesterday and I've only got 8 years left to pay which means it will finish when I am 62 and not 65 like I thought.
The balance is also slightly less than the debts I'm currently paying off which is embarrassing to admit really, I would be so financially well off if I hadn't been so silly and irresponsible with my money for the last 10 years and would probably be able to cut my hours even more than I have
Still there's no point crying over spilt milk is thereOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -
My mortgage is also less than the debts we paid off last year. It's awful to think that we could have used that money to pay off our mortgage
. You're the same age as me and we have nine years left on ours.
But at least we've learnt our lesson now, onwards and upwards.
