I would love a pulley in my kitchen. I can remember my mum had one in the kitchen when I was growing up. I know you can buy them but don’t think my DH would be in agreement. I have a TD, there are a few things I don’t like putting in it as they seem to shrink, like T shirts and tops.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.005

Morning all, happy Friday
I don't think the pulley would work for me. I'm going to persevere with a combination of laundry on the heated airer overnight in the kitchen without it being switched on so they dry off slightly, then switch the airer on in the morning if the weather isn't good enough to hang outside, then finish off on one designated radiator. This is what worked for me last winter. I might move the heated airer to the spare room where it won't be in the way, that room is really warm too. The TD is still very much on the to consider list though. I can remember my mum having a twin tub washing machine and she used to boil wash and spin everything to death. She would hang washing outside whatever the weather and I can remember her bringing in towels and jeans that were so frozen they stood up by themselves which I thought was hilarious at the time.
I see no reason why today shouldn't be NSD 10/15. The only fly in the ointment might be when Mr SA notices he hasn't got his 'nice beers' from Lidl yet. These are the fake Stella ones I usually get him for the weekend. I might have a bit of a battle there but I'm determined I'm not going until tomorrow, we can manage until then. Have run out of washing powder and almost out of loo rolls.
Should be a fairly quiet day work-wise, a few bits to catch up on that's all - so far anyway.
Have a good one.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
My mum had a twin tub too. There were these big grabby things she used to pull washing out of one side and into the other, that we wanted to play with…and always the big warnings about not putting your hand anywhere near when the spinner was still spinning after the top was open…dire warnings about children losing an arm…which I guess was entirely possible. I think we were the last people on earth to have a twin tub and the last people on earth to get a video recorder 😬Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

I remember having a twin tub gifted to us when we first got married. I had it a few years - I was rushed in hospital when ds was about 18 months old with a bad kidney infection. Dh came to see me so proud that he’d done all the washing 👍😁 - when I came home I had to wash it all again as he had literally just put enough water in to cover the clothes and nothing came out clean…..he did try though. We got an automatic on HP very soon after that 👍January spends - £587.585

My mum had a twin tub for years. I used it when the ex and I first got married and we lived at first with my mum and dad. It always used to take ages - washing, putting the washing in the spinner, then filling up and rinsing and spinning again! When we moved and bought an automatic I loved it! You could just walk away and leave it! My mum was always a bit adverse to upgrading to an automatic but when she saw how easy it was, she rushed out and bought one!😂Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Loved my mums twin tub, brings back happy memories. Dread to think what Mr SA could get up to if you did get a pulley drier, don’t think it would stay attached to the ceiling for long.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.003

On a separate note on The One Show tonight was my old 80s heartthrob John Taylor from Duran Duran. Loved him and David Sylvian from Japan back in the day. I was attracted to Mr SA on the basis of him having a long blonde fringe over one eye ala John and David. Look where that got me 🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
