Happy Tuesday

Have been for my morning walk, only went in the big Mr T for an aubergine and came out with some joggers and boxers for Mr SA and a jumper for me. Mr SA does need some new stuff though so not an impulse buy. Just over 7k steps done to start the day. Another FitOn workout after work and a dog walk at lunchtime and that's my exercise for the day.

He resisted a bit with the pad last night but said he felt more confident with it on. 

Mr M online order coming shortly, only one sub which I'm sending back and no missing items. 

Had to ring Virgin again last night as the picture started pixelating again. The woman I spoke to was hard work and said they don't send out engineers to fix TV services! I said well you did this morning! She also implied I'd have to just put up with it! I had to be very insistent. So an engineer is coming out again tomorrow. Personally I think we need a new Tivo box, we've had this one a few years but they seem to be resistant to that suggestion. What with that and the leaking kitchen tap I feel like at the moment I've got things that can't be fixed.

Got all the stuff out of the cupboard under the stairs that's destined for the charity shop. There's quite a bit of it! Now I just need to find a charity shop to take it off my hands. I also tidied one shelf of the other cupboard of doom, 3 to go, doing 1 a day.

Today's cleaning is the kitchen. Tonight's dinner is Mediterranean Cod, got plenty of home grown courgettes and tomatoes to use up. Will roast some extra veg to go in a wrap for tomorrow's lunch.

Charity shops round here seem to be taking things again, so you may be in luck.

You've reminded me I need to start a charity shop box, there are a few bits waiting to be rehomed.

The Virgin engineer turned up unexpectedly this lunchtime. Of course the TV was behaving itself 🙄 I asked about a new TiVo box, he phoned HQ and they said no not yet. This is getting annoying now. He’s given me his mobile number to text him if it starts happening again.

Can you threaten to leave them? Generally sky find a better fix if you mention you’ll need to look for a new provider…

That’s going to be my next move if I don’t get any joy. If they can’t/won’t fix it I’m going to have to move to another provider to be honest.

@Sun_Addict - My bet (ex-Virgin TV customer) is that it's your box. We had a similar thing when we were with them. Tivo boxes were quite new then. We had a problem with our old box, Mr F rang & asked for it to be replaced with a new Tivo & said anyone would think he'd asked for the moon on a stick! Later on though, when he phoned to say we were intending to switch supplier, suddenly he was offered a new Tivo there & then. It is worth you holding out for one, surely it is more hassle for them to keep sending out engineers?

The engineer who came yesterday and unexpectedly this morning, rang me this afternoon to say he’d done something else to the exchange box (fiddled with wires 😆) and told me to take a photo of the TV if it happens again and What’s App him. So far so good and the TV picture has been fine tonight 🤞 If it carries on ok I’ll cancel tomorrow afternoon’s engineer visit. I must say this particular chap has gone above and beyond to get it fixed, so happy with that. If it then starts up again I will press for a new box. 

Tonight’s Mediterranean Cod went slightly pear-shaped as I didn’t have any cod 🤣 So it was Mediterranean pasta bake and very nice it was too. Turns out I’ve used up more freezer stocks than I thought. 

As I type the TV has just started pixelating again, only briefly but it’s there. Damn 😩

Happy hump day 😎

Have been for a run this morning, starting to get chilly first thing now. Will take the dog out at lunchtime and do a Pilates session after work.

Have sent another oddment to the Christmas pot now £550.14/£600. It will be NSD 9/12 today. 

The engineer sent me a text this morning to ask how the TV service is. I’m keeping the engineer visit this afternoon in place as although it’s a lot better it’s still not right. 

Cleaning job for today is the bathroom. Tidied another shelf of the cupboard of doom last night so just 2 more to do. Have taken a portion of Quorn chilli out of the freezer for tonight’s dinner, will have with wedges. A couple of months ago a charity shop a couple of miles away advertised it would pick up from your house, I kept their number so will give them a ring. I’ve got too much stuff to take on foot. The pile of stuff in the dining room is driving me nuts.
