Nice sunny days are very precious this time of year so it's nice to get out and relax and enjoy. We had lunch out too yesterday and sat outside relaxing for a couple of hours. Everyone seems so much more cheerful in the sunshine. By contrast it's cloudy and grey today but the promised rain hasn't started yet. The British weather is consistently inconsistent ⛅️7

Quite a spendy day today as have finally given in to buying Mr SA some incontinence stuff. £50 😱 although most of it is washable so one off purchase. His accidents are getting more frequent unfortunately. Have got all sorts of stuff - mattress protector, chair protector, pants, pads, cleaning stuff. He will probably be able to get the pads on prescription so need to speak to the GP. I wish it didn’t have to come to this but he’s getting worse 🙁Went to Lidl and picked up the electric grater. Not used it yet but plan to in the coming week. The rain appeared earlier than expected, if I can’t get in the garden I’ll tackle the cupboards of doom this afternoon.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

The sun came out at lunchtime so took the dog for a run on the park then did some cutting back of trees in the garden. After that sat at the bottom of the garden with my book and a glass of leftover Prosecco from last night. It was lovely in the sun. I thought the cat was sitting on the fence watching me but turned out it was a squirrel nibbling on a berry. The cat was on a sun lounger watching the squirrel but made no attempt to move. Good job the dog wasn’t there, she would’ve seen it off.I’m having roast salmon with roast beetroot, swede and butternut squash plus steamed veg tonight. Mr SA is having slow cooker pulled pork with roast potatoes and veg.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

It’s sad it’s come to that I don’t know if you can get them on prescription but I know my friend bought a lot of Amazon when she needed them for her mother and she said it saved a lot of money4

The sun came out again here this afternoon. Had an hour sat outside before we have retired to the kitchen.5

Sorry about Mr SA's need for incontinence products. I'm sure you can get them on prescription so I think it's a good idea to contact the GP. I think they might refer to the continence team but worth it in the long run.A book and Prosecco in the garden sounds good.5

You can probably get pads via your local continence nurse and you can often self refer but the number you get may be fairly restricted.
Thats as it is in my area in the west country but as with a lot of things it is a bit of a post code lottery. Good luck.6 -
I bought Mr SA’s from Age UK, they looked to be the cheapest. Ironic that they’re from here as he’s only 56. He had some pads free from the incontinence nurse a few years ago but refused to wear them. I think he’s finally coming round to the fact he needs them, not because he’s old, but because he has a brain injury.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4

I think learning to come to terms with a disabilty is one of the hardest things to do. I have had a health condition for 4 years now and am only now realising that I need to embrace it (if thats the right way of putting it) and using the facilities that may be available for me. Acceptance takes a long time. My sister was disabled and it took her a long time to accept that her walking was limiting her oppurtunities to do what she wanted and get a wheelchair. I think our Mother eventaully persuaded her.
