Morning
Word of warning re those ponchos - make sure it’s the right size for scooter I had one - too big it got caught up in the wheels I nearly strangled myself, over turned the scooter ( it was a small one ) and lay there marooned still holding on to Mr Borrowmydoggy lead - till strangers rescued me - I can smile now but it was frightening at the time.Hope the sun comes out and you have a lovely day .....As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Thanks for that Bubblesmum, worth noting 👍
Have been to the Christmas market at the local park. Mr SA went in the end because it was a lovely sunny day. It was lovely to see the GKs again and they had a great time. The market was a bit disappointing this year, thanks to blooming COVID a lot of things were missing including Santa and the real reindeer 👎 The dog enjoyed seeing them too and it was a good long walk for her. I’m happy because I’ve done 22,000 steps 😄
Went to local shops this morning and as the chemists was empty popped in to pick up Mr SA’s prescription as his meds run out tomorrow. Very annoyed that they couldn’t find it 😩 They had to make it up and made me wait outside for 10 minutes. Fortunately I saw someone I knew so we were chatting and the time passed quickly. I couldn’t resist going into the charity shop to see what books they’d got and came out with 5 for £1, good ones too. Also had a browse in a new shop opened that sells food slightly past or close to best by date and came out with 12 bags of Walkers sriracha crisps for £1 and some brandy chocolate liqueurs to wrap up as an extra gift for Mr SA for just £1.At least I feel like I’ve had a fairly productive day today.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
A rain hood sounds like a good idea for Mr SA's scooter. Well done for not putting on weight 🙂.
I'm glad you enjoyed the Christmas market even if it wasn't as good as in previous years, they've all been cancelled near me and I'm only in Tier 2.

Well done on your books. All the charity shops here charge £1.00 each for paperbacks and sometimes more for hardbacks. Glad you enjoyed the market and even more seeing Grandkids. There was a proposal for a Christmas market but never came to anything and we are in tier 3 anyway.

We are in tier 3 too @ladyholly, fortunately this particular Christmas market was pretty quiet but apparently the one in our city centre was packed 😱 The charity shop is run by a local church so the prices are low.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

I've noticed since the original lockdown ended that prices for books, jigsaws & DVDs have shot down. We went to a market in Wales & they were selling plastic carriers for £1. You could fill them with as many DVDs as you could fit in. There were thousands & thousands of them, a lot of them still in cellophane. We only took 10 but a lot people took double that. All those people using furlough or saving time on commuting doing clear outs.

Another exciting contribution from me re online shopping, I found shelves for the shed ( I know you are all jealous) but they weren't going to be delivered very quickly, so I looked locally. Twice the price in two places and the third was ten quid cheaper so equivalent the most expensive online so i was like ok.......I could go get them......but then remembered zero parking at this place and there is always a queue so in the end I got them online. Free delivery no parking faff and less than fifty quid.
Sorry about the lack of reindeer in the market hope the GKs were ok with it. XXXNevertheless she persisted.10 -
I feel sorry for the children this year....so many Christmas things just aren’t happening. At least you got to see them.
The price of the cover for Mr SA is so expensive. I know someone who has just bought a new wheelchair. There was a grant of about £1,400 (can’t remember the exact amounts) the chair was £5000ish........but it’s a perfect fit and much lighter to get in the car. It’s not cheap making yourself mobile 🙄January spends - £587.588
