You are so good with your exercise. I am really missing the gym and my exercise classes in this lockdown as the weather here is so bad I am not really getting my normal steps in.

We are really bad at getting our steps in Monday to Friday. The weekend is not a problem but during the week most days we only get about 4000 steps in each. The other half doing the dogs morning walk and late evening walk and me doing the lunchtime and early evening walk.
The weekends are not a problem as we are usually out and about somewhere with the dog racking up the steps.
We really must try harder in the week though.7 -
That's true it can't give you flu because it's not a live vaccine but we have to read an advice leaflet before having it that states it can give you a feeling of mild illness, also quite a few people were allergic to the substance that the vaccine is carried in so it could have been that or it could indeed have been a different strain, we are also advised not to have it if we are already unwell or have a temperature, I had my flu vaccine at work this year while recovering from my chest infection because stocks were running low and I didn't want to miss it, unfortunately I got Covid the following week so that was a bad decision on my part 😟enthusiasticsaver said:
Yes it was my first and only one. I cannot even remember why I was offered it as I was early 30s and no underlying conditions. Maybe I was just unlucky and I caught a different strain as many people have told me the vaccine cannot give you flu.Onebrokelady said:

I totally understand why carers or vulnerable people get it and am not anti vaxer so if it was recommended DH and I had it I would get it. I could pay for it but I think after getting it that one year I had the jab I am scared to have it now. My mum gets it every year with no issues though. The year I got it my children were young and my DH actually had to take a week off to look after them and me as I could not get out of bed for the aching muscles and tiredness. As you say it is not just a bad cold. Worst I have ever felt but thankfully had nothing like it since then.Cherryfudge said:I get the flu jab through work as we support people who are at higher risk. DH should get it too as his immunity is compromised, but when he enquired he was told to wait for the letter, which never came. I guess as @enthusiasticsaver says, there aren't currently enough stocks to go round. It may be worth a try again, I've had flu just the once and it's certainly not just a bad cold so if I can stop it spreading, I'm happy enough to help. That said, my reaction to the jab was only a small sore lump. I know some people get more of a reaction than that.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8948 -
My exercise has gone out the window, I was walking part way home from work before I got ill and was really enjoying it, my gp pointed me in the direction of a covid recovery site yesterday and they advise trying to exercise gently and building it up, im walking B twice a day but need to incorporate some sort of muscle building stuff as well, I've got an old plan of gentle exercises from when i was first diagnosed with Fibro so I'm going to start doing them in a couple of daysOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8948

Oh dear. I didn't realise you had the flu vaccine before getting Covid. Someone said to me the vaccine lowers your resistance to other illnesses so she thought I may have picked up a different strain because my immune system was compromised because of the vaccine. Maybe this is what happened to you? A flu vaccine on top of your chest infection left you vulnerable to Covid? I do hope you recover soon.Onebrokelady said:

You need to take it steady OBL and build your strength up first. Not that I'm one to give out advice on taking it steady, I was still attempting to exercise when I had my leg in plaster.
I was in a meeting earlier that was scheduled to last 90 minutes. I've got some of those foot peeling socks and they needed to stay on for 60-90 minutes. Guess what I had on my feet while I was in the meeting, if only they knew 😂 The last time I tried these socks I didn't think they'd worked. A few days later I had what I thought was a piece of cellophane stuck to my foot. When I tried to remove it all the skin off the bottom of my foot peeled off - yes I know - too much information 🤣
Took the dog on the park at lunchtime, she enjoyed a run with her ball and I was happy to get my steps up to 10k. I can just about manage 10k every day, a lot more at the weekend but it's still not as many as I used to do when I was walking to and from work every day. It was easy to go for a walk or run before work in the summer but I really don't fancy this on the cold dark mornings unless I've got somewhere in particular to go like Mr T. The dog won't go out in the dark or the rain and doesn't get up until 9am anyway and by then I've started work so Mr SA takes her out. If I haven't done 10k by the end of the day I just get on the treadmill until I have.
Have paid off the Debenhams card, I rarely use it and it's easy to forget about it as they no longer send statements. Have also sent another £20.78 to the iPad savings so only another £73.01 to go and I'll have enough.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7 -
It's not easy to get exercise when you work from home but you're doing amazingly well to get to 10,000. It's really unmotivating when it's cold, dark and gloomy to go out for a walk or run.
Well done for paying off the D card and you'll soon have your ipad

You don't actually NEED to go outside to do all your steps. I regularly do my 12.5k a day walking between my LR window & DR window. I even try to jog for 20 mins of it, all bare footed as I hate shoes & the paths round here are so uneven I land up with a stiff neck looking down to check where my feet are going. It also avoids the temptation of going into shops. The hardest bits are the turns as you have to avoid twisting the ankles knees or hips. I've just finished my last 6k watching a film I had recorded. The air pressure must be high today though as I have seemingly managed to do 2 flights of stairs without leaving the ground floor. I managed 24 once in a thunderstorm.Although I suspect Mr SA may make that difficult for you!9
