Cherryfudge said:I get the flu jab through work as we support people who are at higher risk. DH should get it too as his immunity is compromised, but when he enquired he was told to wait for the letter, which never came. I guess as @enthusiasticsaver says, there aren't currently enough stocks to go round. It may be worth a try again, I've had flu just the once and it's certainly not just a bad cold so if I can stop it spreading, I'm happy enough to help. That said, my reaction to the jab was only a small sore lump. I know some people get more of a reaction than that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I’ve had the flu jab for years as I worked with vulnerable children. Since I changed jobs I now get it in my own right. Some years I’ve had a sore arm for a couple of days but this year I couldn’t have told you where they’d injected it....no reaction at all 👍😄😄😄 which is just the way I like it 👍👍January spends - £587.589

Enthusiastic saver
The flu jab is apparently more refined now. I had a bad reaction to one years ago but am going for it this year as I am over 65 and dh is over 70.8 -
Flu jabs done ✔️ Mr SA was hard work though. I asked him to get his scooter out ready to go and put a short sleeved top on an hour beforehand. I was in a meeting and knew we’d have to leave the house straight after. It took him an hour to put his shoes on, no scooter out, not changed his top. Then he decided he needed the toilet 😩 We only just made it in time.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)7

We are strongly encouraged to have one at work so I have one every year, the only time I e had a bad reaction was to my first one that also had the swine flu vaccine in with it, they have improved it since then. I'm not sure about the Covid vaccination though 🙀Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1207

One of my colleagues reacted to it and now refuses to have it and from your experience I can understand why. Possibly it could have been that you coincidentally had another strain, it certainly sounds as though you had a rough time.
I didn't realise it had been improved: I only got a sore lump which is nothing compared to being properly ill but maybe I'm benefitting from the improvement.
SA, he must drive you crackers. I'm glad you got there in time.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Morning, happy hump day 😎
Have been down to the big Mr T this morning so almost 8,000 steps done straight off. Good job it's not closer as I always end up picking up bits I hadn't gone in for. It was never going to be a NSD anyway as the wheelie bin washing man is due today.
Got a fairly quiet day work wise, just a meeting this morning then will spend the rest of the day catching up with a few outstanding things.
To do list:
1. Ring Boots Opticians (forgot yesterday)
2. Message greenhouse man to see if he still has us on his list
3. Clean bedroom
4. Clear Debenhams card (Mr SA's Christmas present is on there)
5. Take the dog on the park at lunchtime
6. Spanish
7. Exercise - already done my morning walk so after work will do the daily activity from my WW app which is Butt & Thigh Express
Trying a new recipe tonight that I cut out of the paper last week - Cheat's tuna and sweetcorn pancakes (the pancakes are made from wraps and I have a couple that need to be used up).
Have a wonderful Wednesday x
