I've found that I would rather have something which definitely isn't meat than something which pretends to be meat. I also worry about what they put in things to make them seem like meat. I couldn't understand when my then m-i-l aged about 60 said she didn't really like meat much anymore, but I find now that too much meat just makes me feel a bit off. It seems to be something that happens to women & not men.

I was never a big meat eater. I would only eat chicken and minced beef, then gave it up completely 35 years ago. I just went off it. I do eat fish now and again as long as it doesn’t have the slightest trace of bones or skin. I could quite happily be vegan as I don’t like eggs, milk or butter/marg. You might have noticed lentils and chickpeas are a main feature of my diet 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8

I can't imagine us ever giving up meat completely, but we do have the odd day here and there that is meat free and we do tend to enjoy it.7

I really admire those who don’t eat meat but I couldn’t do it.Well done on painting the smudges too.

Afternoon, happy Monday 😎
Bit late with my update today, been manically busy with work. Have taken over a new task compiling stats and reports using the most horrendous beast of a spreadsheet with all sorts of complicated formulae and it has to be done first thing on a Monday. No idea what I'm doing but that's never stopped me before 🤣
Not left my desk apart from a quick trip to the park with the dog. Hardly done any steps so will go for a treadmill run after work. This week's focus is on tracking food and moving more (when I'm not chained to my desk that is!). My WW app has updated and it looks really good, lots of new stuff.
New budget 4 week period starts today and will be focusing on spending less. Finances have been briefly looked at and have cleared the balance on my CC, a few things pending which I'll clear as and when they clear. £12.16 sent to the iPad fund so now have £335.21, will definitely have enough in the pot by Black Friday, looking to buying a gift card via work as we can get discounted ones and they increase the discounts on Black Friday, can't imagine shops will discount an Apple product but you never know. Anything I can get off the price will be a bonus. Today will be a NSD.
Tonight's dinner will probably be a stir fry to use up some veg before the Mr M delivery tomorrow. Mr SA has got a chicken portion and chips.
Had a call from the window company and windows/door being fitted at the end of January. Not heard from the man putting up the greenhouse, he said he'd been in contact, will give him another week before chasing up. Need to book the cat in the vets for final vaccination in 3 weeks and need to ring Boots as not heard anything about my new VDU glasses yet.
If I get time will give the kitchen and dining room a good clean today.
Hope everyone is having a good Monday x

Well done on touching up the bathroom ceiling,I was looking at mine today and badly want to finish is but not well enough at the moment. Have you ever tried Vivera meat substitutes, I buy the mince and it's so much better than quorn, DD buys the steaks and burgers too,the burgers are lovely but I haven't tried the steak 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1205

Morning 😎
We won't mention the white paint I've managed to get on the dark green walls, just noticed it this morning. I won't be giving up my day job to become a painter and decorator that's for sure 😂 Next time I'll pay someone to do it.
I'm not really keen on false meat, just thought I'd give the mushroom steaks a try. I don't miss meat at all I never liked it much when I used to eat it years ago.
I'll be glad when this week is done because I've got a flu jab today and dentists on Thursday 😒 Finishing work early today to go to the doctors, Mr SA's having his too. I get mine free courtesy of being a carer.
It's not going to be so manic today work-wise (she says hopefully). Got a couple of meetings but thankfully no horrendous spreadsheets.
Today's tasks:
1. Work
2. Clean living room/hall/stairs
3. Spanish
4. Mr M delivery coming at 8am so today will be a spend day. Noticed that there are 3 subs, 2 of which are more than double the price I wanted to pay, not sure if they still charge the cheaper price
5. Exercise will be walking the dog, one of Joe's 15 HIIT sessions and a yoga flow stretch
6. Attempt to ring Boots opticians and chase up my VDU glasses, kept getting cut off yesterday which was annoying
Tonight's dinner will be butternut squash and chickpea curry out of the freezer for me and pork casserole in the slow cooker for Mr SA. Determined to use up stocks this week before I start making new stuff to fill it back up again, it never seems to go down.
Have a terrific Tuesday x

Mr M will charge you the cheaper price or they always did with our subs.
The only year I ever had a flu jab (about 25 years ago) was the year I actually caught flu. Never had the jab since or caught flu so hopefully that lasts. Made my DH and I laugh when we got a text to say everyone over the age of 54 should get it but don't ask for it as there aren't enough stocks to go round. We are 60 and 62 so both should get it but neither of us ever had the jab or flu. Hope this is not the year to get it.

I sent all the subs back to be on the safe side. Why they subbed 2 packs of expensive grapes for 1 cheaper pack is anyone's guess, could have understood if it was just 1. We only started to have flu jabs after Mr SA's stem cell transplant. Mr SA makes a big fuss about how painful the jab is and always claims to feel ill afterwards.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I get the flu jab through work as we support people who are at higher risk. DH should get it too as his immunity is compromised, but when he enquired he was told to wait for the letter, which never came. I guess as @enthusiasticsaver says, there aren't currently enough stocks to go round. It may be worth a try again, I've had flu just the once and it's certainly not just a bad cold so if I can stop it spreading, I'm happy enough to help. That said, my reaction to the jab was only a small sore lump. I know some people get more of a reaction than that.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
