Morning, happy Friday ๐๐
Milann - it's part of the requirement of my job to use spreadsheets and be good with technology. I'm certainly no expert but probably above average knowledge (ish ๐คฃ)
Well the final weekend before we get locked down on Monday ๐ It really is a nightmare year and there seems to be no end to it. Still got a ยฃ12 M&S food voucher to use before the end of next week, suppose I'd better pop in town Monday morning and use it, who knows what will get closed down. I feel really sorry for the little local businesses, we have a lovely independent cafรฉ at the end of our road, they have worked so hard to build up their business and now they are worrying what will happen.ย
Have a fabulous Friday x

It really must be sole destroying for businesses. How on earth do you plan when nobody knows whatโs happening? One of my best friends has done agency work for catering establishments for the last 30 years and had always had her choice of places to work......or not. ( the flexibility suits her lifestyle) She hasnโt worked since March.Hopefully youโll get to see your family this weekend. Thereโs suppose to be some announcements later today but Iโm not sure if thatโs just about furlough and grants.....who knows ๐๐ค๐January spends - ยฃ587.589

Perhaps some of that M&S voucher should go on a treat or two? I think it's about time you had something nice to look forward to.
My work has started using a social networking site: I had a cautious look to see what was going on and found a lot of it is people posting pictures of their pets, but other than that there were some practical threads including ideas about recreating the social world at work for those who are WFH. One idea that stuck with me was if you are one of the last two on a video call, spend a moment chatting to the other person about something other than work, even if all you can say is 'I like your wallpaper!' Mind you when I've been on video calls, people seem to disappear pretty quickly afterwards, so perhaps the start of a call is a better time! Another idea was a virtual coffee break where you combine your real coffee break with 10 minutes chatting to a colleague.
It also suggested cutting back on listening to the news as that can drag us down, but I think the thing about social contact is more subtle and even more important for you SA as you need your time away.
You can always come and chat to us too, of course.
I always look out for your thread!

I haven't got a clue about spreadsheets or computers really,I can get by with the basics but that's it, I'm not looking forward to next Friday when I have to use our new digital system in my clinics, my training went ok but I didn't have doctors and patients asking me questions every five minutes or coming in to my room to shout at me because their appointment is running late or the phone ringing every 5 minutes ๐๐ซ๐ it's gone live today so I'm lucky I'm not working, I will get to see it in action tomorrow though ย ย

Have had a lovely Saturday saw DS and the GKs this afternoon, DD stayed in her room so there werenโt 7 of us โgatheringโ in one room. Might be the last time we see them for a while ๐ก
Nipped to the local shops this morning and saw a neighbour sitting on her own in a cafe so went in and joined her. It was lovely to have a chat. Canโt believe I walked straight past the table at the front of the cafe with the hand sanitiser and form to leave details. Iโm a nightmare with this Covid rules malarkey ๐ฑ At least I remembered to put my mask on this time.
Hope everyone has had a good day xI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)8 -

My neighbour is in her 70s and she said she goes to the cafe every day just to get out of the house. Sheโs not alone, she has a husband, but they appear to have different interests. Provided cafes are still allowed to open next week, Iโll keep my eyes peeled for her again as she was very appreciative of the company as I was too.ยDGS won an award at school and it was announced via a Zoom assembly.
