ETA: How did I miss that one - it starts with a tribute to Ballykissangel, of glorious happy memory! Mind you it was first broadcast when DS1 was a baby so I missed a fair old amount that year.I'm sitting here grinning idiotically. Maybe it should be available on prescription to cheer us up?

Oh no to the scooter incident. Bet you wanted the ground to gobble you up. I’m surprised there’s not some kind of competence test before people can drive them as the scooters can do a fair bit of damage as you know. The park looks lovely.
I really fancied a ride out today but I was waiting for the nurse until 3 pm then we were due at ds for dinner - which was lovely. It was nice to sit in his house instead of mine 😄
Hope your candle smells nice - just keep it away from Mr SA 😳January spends - £587.585 -

Morning, happy Monday 😎
The deed is done, M&S food vouchers spent and free candle claimed. The candle smells lovely very spa-like, it's a full sized one worth £7.50. This will be kept for my bath time candle. I also had my free coffee in the café and treated myself to a fruit scone. I'm not a massive cake fan but I like scones. It was still warm and so fresh, I really enjoyed it. I finally downloaded the track and trace app so I could scan in when I went in the café.
Very sad to see the city centre so quiet when it's normally busy with people going to work at that time.
I walked there and back so 14k steps done and dusted first thing 😀

Very productive use of your time! (I'm not a morning person but I admire all you get done).
When I've been out to cafes over the last few months I've been impressed at how well they've managed their space: in some there have been 'passing traffic' issues where customers have to go past each other, for instance while queuing, but the tables are well distanced and staff have visors or masks so you feel quite safe. Then all you need is a scone and coffee!
I think a lot of small businesses are struggling because they don't get the lunchtime trade from office workers. Very sad, though I suppose individuals have saved a lot this year in not buying lunch out. I hadn't realised it affects other places apart from fast food outlets but a local shop keeper said to me that she's not getting people calling in at her dry goods shop either.

SA it sounds as if you’ve had a lovely morning visiting M&S.
It is a worry with the town centres being so empty and the impact on businesses......I have to admit to being in ostrich mode and trying not to look too far ahead. I’m trying very hard to live in the moment......but it’s not easy 🙄January spends - £587.589 -
Quick look at finances, have cleared the cc and transferred another £23.59 to the iPad savings, now have £146.36. This week is week 4 of the budget and the final week before the new one starts on Monday. Thinking about making a start on buying Christmas presents, will no doubt have to be done online. Looking at my list of things I usually spend money on at Christmas, a lot of things probably won't be going ahead such as the local Christmas fayre and the work team Christmas meal 😒
This morning in the city centre I noticed a camera crew were setting up, no doubt will be asking folks for opinions when the restrictions come in later today. I should be going in again next week as I have an appointment for an eye test that got cancelled during lockdown, fingers crossed it still goes ahead, not that I like having my eyes tested, I just want it over and done with. I always get told off for blinking when they puff the air in my eyes, I try really hard not to and don't realise I'm doing it. Also need to chase up my dentists, they cancelled my May check up and although they're open again they haven't sent me a new appointment, next month it will be a year since my last check up. Another place I don't like going but needs to be done.

Very pleased with a good deal I got this lunchtime. As you know Mr SA has been pestering for a new coat. I remembered hearing something positive about Mountain Warehouse on the radio last week and had a look online. Found him a perfect one for £34.99, the P&P was £4.95 on orders less than £50. Didn't want to spend £50 so put a search on Google to see if there were any discount codes and found one for 20% off. The code worked and brought the coat down to £27.99. I decided to splash out on express delivery £5.95, so ended up costing £33.94. Bargain 😁
What's next on his list 🤣
