Morning, happy Friday 🎉
I thought it was Saturday when I woke up this morning, so I was slightly later going for my run 6.30 rather than 6am. I think it was because of the retirement do yesterday making me think yesterday was Friday. I get confused easily 😕
Sent Mr SA back to the hardware shop this morning to get me a decent washing line. The one he got yesterday is absolutely rubbish, it sags no matter how tight you wind it, the clothes were practically on the floor when I was pegging them out. No wonder it was only £1.50. He's just come back with a better one for £7.50. We're lucky to have such a good little hardware shop at the end of our road, they sell everything and it's the sort of place where they would sell you just one screw if that's all you wanted. It's a proper old fashioned hardware shop owned by two brothers who are very knowledgeable and always know what you're looking for.
Really must finish the kitchen cupboards cleaning today, started off well on Monday but have slowed down as the week went on.
Today's WW app activity of the day is Pilates so will do that after work. Also got day 103 of my Duo Lingo Spanish learning.
Money wise I've gone over budget this week. Still under budget for the 4 week period though but not as much as I wanted. This week has been very spendy with grocery spends in Iceland, Mr M and Mr T - I don't know where it all goes! New 4 week budget period starts on Monday and I've separated the budget back into groceries and other spends as the grocery spends are eating into the other spends budget so I really need to keep more of a tight rein on this. It used to work better when I split the Mr M deliveries into two but it feels a bit greedy in the current situation to have 2 deliveries a week, although there doesn't seem to be a problem getting slots now, even Mr O is offering me priority slots after not being able to get one for months.
No plans for the weekend, I don't think the forecast is great unfortunately. Probably a good time to get my printer back up and running.
Anyway enough rambling. Have a fabulous Friday everyone x

We used to have a cracking little hardware shop nearby run by the same family for several generations- the owner I knew was in his late 70s and still running it with the help of his daughter. Soon after she took the reigns completely, she sold out to a small chain - it only lasted a few months afterwards. I really miss it because as yours, you could buy an odd item rather than a bubble pack. It looked chaos but the old fellow could put his hand on anything straight away.
Our forecast has been rubbish all week but it’s not been as bad as expected the last couple of days, so fingers crossed for you. I’ve not got many plans this weekend - a trip to see relative at some point but that’s about it.January spends - £587.587 -
Just as I was beginning to look forward to Ibiza the government have taken Spain off the green list even though the Balearics and Canaries have very low Covid cases. Apparently the islands' governments are lobbying the UK to remove the 14 day quarantine. To be honest having to quarantine when we get back won't bother us but Tui and Jet 2 have said they won't fly passengers to places where they have to quarantine on return. It really isn't fair to tar the islands with the same brush as the mainland 😒
So another waiting game to see what will happen with our holiday. I was going to book Lanzarote for October next week when I get paid so that will have to go on hold. If Jet2 cancel Ibiza I'll rebook for Lanzarote September or October and see what happens with that one. Of course we could rebook for August to somewhere that's on the green list but whether it's suitable for Mr SA is a big factor and that's why we tend to go to the same resorts.
It really annoys me when you see the comments on the internet news items when people say holiday in the UK, lots of nice places to go, UK businesses need your money etc. All very well if you have a car or are both able bodied - taking Mr SA on holiday in this country would be a logistical nightmare. It's so much easier for us to go abroad. And then there's the weather...
Of course things could all change again in the next couple of weeks/days/hours. So for now it's just a waiting game.
Ugh 😒

Thought of you immediately SA last night when I heard the news. We booked for Tenerife on Friday for October for my DDs 30th . We will have to wait and see like you say, I hope the govt listens about the Canaries and Balearic Islands . Lots of people saying shouldn't have booked holidays but I say look at the beach at Bournemouth, how was that safe .🤷🏻♀️Have a good Sunday SA.Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.9

A lot of people, like me, booked their holidays last year before we'd even heard of this virus.
Holidays aside, hoping for a NSD today, no plans to go anywhere. I was going to sort out my suitcase today, but no point right now. Finished cleaning/tidying all the kitchen cupboards yesterday, keep opening them and looking at how organised they are 😁 Have made a list of all the ingredients I have in stock, some are a bit out of date but will still be ok, although I did throw away some fennel seeds that went out of date in 2007 😮 Might do the Insanity class later. Meal plan for next week is done. Mr SA has taken the dog out on his scooter so it's peace and quiet for a few minutes at least.
Have a lovely Sunday x

I thought of you immediately as well. I hope it all gets sorted out for you.
I have to agree with what you say about holidaying in the UK. We don't have a car either There are lots of really nice places in this country but a lot of them are really inaccessible if you don't drive and public transport can be virtually non existent. It takes us four busses to get to the place we like in Northumberland but it's a two and a half drive if the Boy takes us. If we didn't factor in an overnight in Edinburgh as part of our holiday we'd have to leave at the crack of dawn and even if we did that I'm not sure we could fit in the connections. We could get a train and two busses but the east coast rail line is awful. Trains frequently don't run at the weekend and when they do they are crowded even if you have booked a seat. It would be virtually impossible to go somewhere like that with Mr S A.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9
