we have to get the front door done too - I have priced up a door from Wickes £675 I think. and Mum (!) was meant to get a quote from the bloke who did my sister's door. but she didn't.
Sounds like you had a decent weekendXXX
Nevertheless she persisted.7 -

Morning all, happy Monday and another new week
Working from home today, have had some issues with internet access first thing and have spend the best part of an hour sorting out, thankfully seems to be ok at the minute.
New budget starts today, determined to underspend again.
This coming week I'm working from home today and Thursday, got hairdressers Wednesday afternoon and a mammogram on Friday 13th! Will be walking to/from work (weather permitting) Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.

That's Monday done - work wise anyway. Love working from home, I would've got wet on the way home today as it's started raining. Apart from taking the dog out, not left the house today so it's been NSD3 of March. Going to hoover, mop and wipe round the house, gave it a good clean yesterday so only a quick freshen up. Then I'm going to do 20 minutes on the treadmill.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Working from home sounds bliss.....not much chance of me doing that in my line of work. 😂😂We’ve offered to work flexi time and start at 3 pm - but the head teacher was having none of it 😂😂
Your finances are sounding in good order - well done on the savings and underspending.👏👏👏
Has Mr SA got alternative plans for the house money since he’s reluctant to spend on the house?
January spends - £587.587 -
@milann he doesn’t know about the money, he’d just want to blow it. He has no idea about the price of things. I’ve spent far too many years not getting things done or having them bodged by Mr SA.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

I loved the Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine book too. Apparently they are making a film of it.
I think if it is money you saved from your salary then replacing 30 year old doors and windows is a good use of the money. Better than say frittering it on beer. As Mr SA has no idea about money now maybe just present him with a fait accompli. Difficult though if he is digging his heels in due to feeling he wants to maintain some control. If he was a bodger even before the accident though it may just be ingrained in him to do jobs as cheap as possible regardless of the quality of workmanship or materials. You often get bigger discounts from having windows and doors done at the same time. I have had three phone calls this week from previous double glazing installers we have used trying to tempt us into doing more work.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
