Once your fixed term runs out, you can overpay by as much as you are able before fixing again - so a little fund to save up for an extra overpayment might be worth considering. The other thing to think of once your fixed term is over is how much you could overpay in a sort of sprint to the finish. We got to a point where it was better to go on the (much higher) variable rate because I could pay off much more of the remaining money much faster. It's a very satisfying feeling to make the last payment!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Won’t be able to start the project until later in the year but will be good to get started. Like everything else I’m doing now I wish I’d done it sooner. Better late than never though. We’ve been told at work to take our computers home every night in case of Corona Virus They’re quite heavy to lug about but better to be on the safe side I suppose.
Did another 20 minutes on the treadmill tonight 👍
Planning to walk to work tomorrow, do Pilates at lunchtime then walk back home. Not looking forward to revisiting the accident site but needs to be done to move forward. Going to employ my usual coping tactic of not thinking about it.
Will be off to bed shortly as so tired from lack of sleep last night.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)9 -
I know you are keen to keep moving forward but try to not overdo it.
Hope tomorrow goes wellxx

How on earth are you going to walk to work and back lugging a heavy computer every day?
Will you be able to use one of those shopping trolley things as you don't want to be putting too much effort into carrying things... won't do your leg any good,Take care. X
I Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.
happiness isn't achieved by getting extra things,
but by getting rid of the things that make you unhappy8 -
Could you use a backpack ? Or because of your leg have one to keep at home until you’re fighting fit ?Sealed pot challenge 822

Morning folks, happy Thursday
My work computer is a Surface Pro but it's still fairly heavy. I've got a big shoulder bag I use for work which makes it a bit easier to carry. I'll just have to make sure I don't pick up too much shopping. I do wish I could have another to keep at home but there are no spares and they are very expensive so having two won't be an option unfortunately. I'm sure work thinks everyone travels by train and then jumps into their car at the station car park.
I managed to walk to and from work yesterday plus do Pilates at lunchtime. In the morning as I approached the accident scene my heart started pumping. Although the green man was lit and all three lanes of cars had stopped, I was convinced one of them was going to spring forward while I was crossing. I've faced it now and it'll get better each time. What I did notice is the amount of drivers who speed up when they see the lights changing. At one point all the traffic slowed down as the lights were changing except for one driver who put his foot down and whizzed through when the green man was on. I suspect this is what happened when I was hit that day.
I did really well at Pilates and managed most of the exercises, many of which are similar to the ones the physio said would be good for my leg. The instructor showed me a few different ones I could practice at home too which will help.
Walking back home was harder as it's uphill all the way and I was more than ready to put my feet up with a coffee when I got home. This morning my legs are aching but not painful. Glad I'm working from home today and can rest. The only walking I'm doing today is taking the dog out.
Already had a Mr M online shop delivered and put away.
Shocked yesterday to get an email from Scottish Power put my direct debit up by £38 a monthThis will mess up my savings and will no doubt be the first of many other things going up as they all seem to follow suit. Back in the summer they cut the direct debit by quite a lot and I knew I'd end up having to pay more during the winter. No doubt it'll go back down again so I'll try and keep it at a steady amount and if I build up a surplus in the summer that can stay in the pot until winter.
Already got 3 catch ups with friends booked in for this month starting with one tomorrow
