Forgot to add, as if I haven't had enough of hospitals recently, I've had an appointment for a mammogram come through for 2 week's time. I'll have to postpone until the boot is off. What with Mr SA's two hospital appointments this month, my leg appointments and the bunion appointment still to be done, I think that's enough to be going on with.

I know just what you mean about hospital appointments- I had a request a smear letter come through....I will go but not until I’ve had the results of the scans I’ve had recently - only so many hospitals my nerves can cope with at one time.
Please take care on your leg and don’t do too much too soon - it’ll only slow things down if you do - voice of experience talking here:o

Had to send Mr SA out to the shops for a few bits, he actually managed to more or less get it right. I asked him to pick up a baguette for lunch and was quite looking forward to a piece with some cheese and salad. He bought a small one just enough for himself. Oh well.

:rotfl:I'd have to laugh, otherwise I'd cry at this :rotfl: They are sooo frustrating.

    Morning folks :)

End of budget week 3 finances done. Very happy to report a £28.26 underspend :j £8.26 of this has gone to VSP and the £20 has gone into August holiday pot. It was good to cross another box and a bit off my chart :D As I didn't need to use any of the £200 earmarked for the EF £50 of this has been sent to the ISA today. Tesco card has been cleared.

So at the end of budget week 3 the totals are:
    VSP £74.98/£600.00
    Emergency fund £3350/£10,000
    August holiday pot £213.40/£1528.40
Monthly Saver £1750 (£250 to be added this coming week)
    Tesco credit card £0

I must be the only person you know who saves money by not shopping in Aldi and Lidl :rotfl: A lot of it is down to not being able to get out though. This month will be quite a spendy one as I'll have to pay for taxis for both of Mr SA's hospital appointments, I might have to buy a bus pass when I start physically going back to work and I have a couple of meals out with friends booked in. Everything is in hand though and planned ahead.

The plan for the week ahead is to eat out of freezer/cupboards as much as possible to try and keep spending down on the final week in my budget period. Going to split my Mr M shop into two again - wish I'd done it this week as ended up having to pay over the odds at local shops - I was so sure I'd be up and about again and getting the fresh stuff from Lidl, this week I'll presume I won't be. Forecast spends for the coming week are groceries, bus fares to/from hospital, possible bus fares to work (but doubtful to be honest) and hairdressers on Friday (which will come from my own spending pot).

Today will be NSD 1 of February, going to keep a count this month.

At least something positive is coming out of being out of action. I just need to keep up the momentum.

Have a good day everyone :)

  • Sounds as though you have everything under control and your savng pots are coming along nicely.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and hope next week is not too stressful with all the appointments xx
  • Echoing PWPS - and look after that leg SA!

:eek:to Mr SA's travails with the dog and baguette!

I've been mostly resting today. Watched last night's Casualty on BBC iPlayer - I will admit I shed a few tears, so sad :(

DD caught me dancing to Dance yourself Dizzy in the kitchen just now. I was listening to Alan Carr and Melanie Sykes on Radio 2 while I was cooking. I think she thought I'd lost the plot :rotfl: I can still dance with a broken leg :)

One of the questions Alan and Mel brought up was who was your first pin up. Mine was David Cassidy, my bedroom wall was full of posters of him and I was adamant I was going to marry him despite me being about 12 and him being in 20s :rotfl: So I'm asking who was your first pin up?
