Finally back from the shops. Eyebrows look fab. I had a £5 off voucher which needed to be used by tomorrow so only cost £10. Took me 20 minutes to get to the bottom of my road to the shops, usually takes 5. Picked up some bits and bobs of shopping, dropped some books off at the CS and only picked up one which is a record for me, only 30p.
Had a coffee at the new coffee bar. It's a lovely place, very small though. The coffee is lovely and it was packed out. Managed to resist the beautiful home made cakes on the counter. I rarely eat cake to be honest, I do like it but I always feel sick afterwards and regret it. This is what happens after years of healthy eating, there is a downside
My leg is quite sore now but I'm pleased I went out. My Fitbit is a lot happier as for the first time in weeks I've almost done 10,000 steps. To think just 7 weeks ago my average day's steps was 24,000. So annoying :mad:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Glad that you got out

Gutted about the boot.
Mine drove me nuts when I had to wear it on my ankle, I broke a bone and tore some ligaments. Yoga was the thing that eventually sorted mine out. Oh hand wash the padding and dry on a radiator
Big love to you XXXXNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Morning all, happy Friday
Finally payday :j Within less than 10 minutes all the money was shuffled into its various pots, all sorted. Put another £135 towards the August holiday so have crossed off another 9 boxes on my 100 squares chart£200 has been earmarked for the emergency fund, I break this down into 4 lots of £50 and if I haven't needed it by the end of the week £50 of it is sent to the EF. £250 has been earmarked for the monthly saver which goes out next week. Put some money aside for my haircut next Friday, DS's OH's birthday next month and Valentines Day. Added a small amount to my shopping fund. Sent 12.40 to VSP and the rest has gone on bills (boo).
Will have an end of month tot up and set goals for February later.
Have a good dayI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
February Goals
1. Get back on my feet and start getting back to normal
2. Emergency fund up to at least £3700 by end February
3. Get back on track properly with WW
4. Book in 2 catch ups with friends for March
5. Continue to stick to budgets (this will become harder as I get out and about more so will be a challenge)
6. Start exercising again, whatever form that may take while I recover
7. Use recipe books, try at least one new recipe a week
8. Carry on decluttering
9. Save minimum of £135 for August holiday
10. Have a minimum of £100 in VSP by end February
So pretty much the same as my January goals.
I spoke to the Carers Hub about extending the free gym membership for another 3 months at the end of February. Unfortunately they have a waiting list for the March to June period so I probably won't get it. Depending on how my leg is I'll think about paying for it as I really enjoy the classes, particularly Insanity. It's a shame as I've hardly had any use out of it since the new period started in December. I was rather hoping to spin out the free membership until I'm 60 in August then I'll get it at a reduced rate.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Forgot to say Mr SA is so not with it today. He went out on his scooter to take the dog on the park and forgot to take the dog :rotfl:
The scooter place have just picked up the courtesy scooter and brought his repaired one back so he's happy about that.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
I've been missing a couple of days so harking back to the eyebrow thing. I have been having mine waxed & tinted for a while now. The eyes aren't what they were so plucking could be a (painful) challenge. But what really decided me was when some very long (as in almost an inch) hairs started growing, but growing in a really weird tan colour. So the poor girl doesn't just have to tint & wax but also has to trim! She actually has to use a comb! Thank goodness I have been on here years & knew I could work on & not take my pension, otherwise I could never have afforded to have this stuff dealt with.0

Morning all
The longest January ever is finally over hello February.
I'm not making any comments about Brexit as I never made my mind up about it one way or the other.
Still planning to go to WW this morning. If I walk across the park on the path it will be easier than going down the steep hill. I'll probably get a lift back. It will be good to get out again.
Have a good SaturdayI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Well I made it to WW took me just over 30 minutes to walk there, usually takes 10
Thankfully two people offered me a lift home so I was sorted on the way back. I enjoyed getting out and chatting to the group and I've
come away motivated to get back on track. My leg is suffering now though, is sore and swollenSitting with a coffee, book and my feet up in order for the rest of the day I think. Mr SA suggested I sit with him and watch the rugby, not a chance :rotfl:
Had to send Mr SA out to the shops for a few bits, he actually managed to more or less get it right. I asked him to pick up a baguette for lunch and was quite looking forward to a piece with some cheese and salad. He bought a small one just enough for himself. Oh well.
Beautiful sunny day here today but so windy.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0
