    Happy New Year's Eve :)

Had a lovely lunch out at the local pub. Not a cheap do but good to get out. The pub is less than 10 minutes walk from our house but had to get a taxi. Annoyed that it was only £3 on the way there but £4.60 on the way back just 2 hours later :( I had a vegan burger with sweet potato fries and it was lovely. It was a shame it wasn't busier, I thought it would be. Anyway a lunch at the local cost us the best part of £50 factoring in food, 2 drinks each and taxis  It's a nice pub but not cheap. Food is good though. It is what it is.

Aside from that, Mr M order delivered, a few items missing, getting a bit fed up of this might try elsewhere in the New Year although under normal circumstances this isn't a problem as I'd just pick up from elsewhere.

Plans for tonight are feet up with the TV. Don't care if I'm not awake to see the new year in, be glad to see the back of this decade it's not been the best. As one of my friends said I must've broke a mirror 7 years ago because I've had more or less 7 years of bad luck since 2013.

Hello... I i’ve just caught up as well I’m very tired sorry to hear about your accident. I had plaster casts on my leg as a child and I love baths and I can remember my mother putting a plastic footstool in the bath so that I could lay down with my plaster cast on the footstool out of the water. In fact I don’t think we had a shower in those days and I had to have a bath every day!

May I wish you a relaxing evening with gin

    Happy and healthy New Year

Thanks both. BM I do have a plastic footstool from the last broken ankle saga but am happy to cope with just a shower until the cast is off

In other news I've booked a holiday in Ibiza for my 60th in August. Been looking for ages and everywhere was so expensive being in the school holidays. Saw a FB post that said today was the cheapest day to book a holiday and something made me check my Jet2 app again and I found an affordable one just 10 minutes walk from San Antonio sunset strip. The hotel sounds fab, upgraded to a sunset view room and I'm happy with the price :) Last day to use the £60 off rain cheque too so just in the nick of time.

So that's Lanzarote booked for Mr SA's birthday in April and Ibiza booked for mine. Just need to book Lanzarote for October now and I'm done. Love my holidays they are what keep me going :)

Pub sounds good but not surprised that its not busy as that is expensive for a bar lunch.
Good news on holiday booked for your 60th :) xx

    Thanks both xx

The holiday is a weight off my mind as I was struggling to find somewhere I knew I liked at the right price. Trust me to be born in August :)

I don't feel anywhere near 60, well most of the time anyway, still got 8 months to cling on to my 50s yet though :rotfl:

Fireworks going off left, right and centre where I live, good job the dog and cat aren't bothered.

Hoping this next decade is kinder to me, the last 10 years saw Mr SA get a brain tumour and me get a broken ankle then broken leg :( On the plus side Mr SA survived, I gained 2 lovely grandchildren, my fantastic dog and cat and got my promotion at work ;)

I don't look far beyond the next week these days so not thinking about the next 10 years. I'll take each day as it comes.
