Happy Friday and happy August :)

I posted last night but for some reason it hasn't appeared :(

I'll be truly glad when it's this time next week and the interview is done. I love the job I'm in now, although it's not as busy as I'm used to, so it won't be the end of the world if I don't get it.

Mr SA said "we" need to decide what to spend the extra money on if I get the job. I said the plan is to save it. He hates saving, always has done, so this didn't go down well. If I'd let Mr SA take control of our finances in the past we would've been in a complete mess, he's always been rubbish with money.

I took part in a staff engagement exercise today which was really interesting. It was recruiting for a senior leader and they had to do their pitch, we asked them questions and then gave our opinions to a work psychologist after they'd left the room. For me the best thing it showed was that even people at the top get nervous about interviews. I came away from it feeling more confident about my interview. Picked up quite a few tips :)

Anyway I'm trying to put next week to the back of my mind this weekend and try to chill. Got the GKs coming tomorrow but nothing else planned.

  • Good luck with the interview SA. You can do it :).

It sounds as if your exercise at work will come in handy for you next week.
Enjoy the gks. Are they enjoying the school holidays or does the lack of usual routine throw your gs.
Hope the sun is shining for you- it is here today but the rain is set to return tomorrow and most of next week. I feel for the children around here as they were still in school during the heatwave and it’s rained nearly every day since they broke up.

    Happy Saturday:)

The GKs aren’t coming today after all, their mum is having her nails done. I don’t know how they afford it, DS doesn’t earn a great deal and she doesn’t work. I can’t afford to have my nails done and I work. Anyway nothing to do with me.

Lovely day here today, been sitting in the garden. Trip to Lidl this morning, picked up some bargains, massive punnet of strawberries for 70p plus a veg box for £1.50 :) Not been to WW today, don’t need to pick anything up and I think I’ve STS anyway. I don’t really need to lose any more weight. I wouldn’t stop going though as it keeps me in line and I enjoy the rapport with the others.

Hope everyone’s having a good day xx

I agree about the cost of having nails done. I look at some of the families at school - nails done, hair extensions and everything about their appearance pristine - I often wonder how they afford it? I had mine done before Christmas as a one off and swore I wouldn’t have them done again. Granted I took them off myself but it left my nails in such a mess - literally took months to grow out. I’d rather use old style nail polish and do it myself as I couldn’t afford to keep up with the nail bars prices.......
