Unfortunately he's going to buy it from resort, he knows the shops sell them. He doesn't know what day it is most of the time but has an encyclopaedic knowledge of what the shops there sell
I'm sure they're cheap enough it's just the disaster waiting to happen aspect.

Morning folks, happy Sunday
What a wet miserable morning so far
Have just done finances and have overspent spectacularly the past week. Some of the things had to be bought to take advantage of my week off and the good weather so don't begrudge it really. Plus the launderette costs and the coffees we had in Costa both times we went. It's a perfect example of how the little spends all add up to become one massive spend. I've sat and put all the spends on a spreadsheet and will chip away at them until they're clear. They need to all be covered by the end of August. Fortunately all the monies start to come in from tomorrow so the new budget will be in place. Really have to stick to it and be extra frugal until the card balance is paid off. The cc looks super scary at the moment as it has the holiday balance on it, this is covered by a separate budget and is all in hand.
Mr SA and the dog are still asleep, I've taken advantage of this to get all the floors mopped.
Now to work out a plan to tackle the overspend :eek:I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
Looks like you have a plan for your overspend.

Still a wet and miserable day here
Managed to take the dog out on the park a couple of times for a good run in between downpours. Don't know where she's getting all her energy from as she's hardly eaten anything for the past couple of days. I put her a nice pouch of dog food in her bowl but the cat has eaten it. Cooking her a chicken breast tonight to see if that will tempt her before the cat spots it. I'm not joking the cat is eating everything in sight today, she was even after my roast veg wrap at lunchtime.
The meal plan is done:
Soup for work lunches is spicy lentil and chickpea
Sunday: paprika tuna steak, sweet potato wedges and veg
Monday: lentil loaf (from freezer), roast swede and veg
Tuesday: salmon with Mediterranean orzo salad
Wednesday: stir fry
Thursday: tuna with lentil and cauliflower salad
Friday: lemon sole, butternut squash wedges and veg
Saturday: not sure yet, possibly pizza and salad
Back to the gym next week, AFDs and proper tracking on my WW app. Only got 8 weeks until Lanzarote.
Trying to use up stuff I've already got in stock as much as possible. Really need to clear that credit card by the end of August, will start attacking it from tomorrow onwards.
Cupboard of doom number 2 decluttered :j Finished yet another book, read 2 this week.
The Smonday blues are about to hit me, doesn't help when 3 people I know are going on holiday this week and will be posting pics on FB
I know it'll be my turn soon, I need to be patient.
Here's to a good week for us allI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

That's Monday and Tuesday done
In super scary news I've got an interview for the job on promotion :j  Next week  When I got the email telling me I felt sick
Up to this point Mr SA didn't know anything about it, he's moaned a bit, saying what's wrong with the job you've got. Well nothing but this job pays £500 a month more for doing the same thing basically.
When I got home from work he'd been looking at roofing jobs again on his Kindle, even considering advertising his roofing services. Reminded him how are you going to get up a ladder let alone anything else. SighI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
£500 a month extra for doing roughly what you do now sounds like a great opportunity. Good luck with the interview.
Considering Mr SAs rather accident prone nature I don't think a fishing rod is at all a good idea. Don't they have hooks on the end and waving those around on a crowded beach does not bear thinking about :eek:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Great news about the interview!
When you are nervous just remember you are perfectly experienced and it's the other interviewees who should be worried. On the other hand, if you aren't keen on the extra £500 a month, just send it in my direction.
Lots of good wishes for the interview winging their way over to you.
And :eek::eek:to Mr SA thinking about roofing. At least you caught him.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
