As a wheelchair user... I now avoid Christmas markets, shops, etc, as I am seen as a nuisance, see mostly people’s bums etc than anything else I do most shopping online, I must admit, I miss it at times being out amongst the Christmas festivities and feeling of isolation from the rituals most people take for granted.Deck your wheelchair with lightsGet out there anyway, who cares what people think.
It is not about caring what people think.
It is about the sheer busyness & the volume of people and it not being the best of experiences for the pushed or the pusher.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. I wasn't exactly feeling enthusiastic when the alarm went off at 04.45 this morning. Not helped by the fact that the mild November we've been having so far had turned into proper November weather overnight
Caught Mr SA trying to steal the envelopes from the Christmas cards I've bought for the GKs  Did he really think he'd get away with it! He ended up just handing me the cards - one from him and one from the dog. Unbelievably he's bought exactly the same card from the dog to me as I've bought for him from me :rotfl:
His free prescriptions run out at the end of next month so I've filled in a form from the doctors ticking the box saying his physical disabilities mean he can't go out unaccompanied, which is true really. The GP signs it and sends it off. If he doesn't qualify then I'll have to get him a season ticket as he has three items a month. It is what it is.
New budget period starts today, yet another attempt at staying on track. Trying a different tactic by spending as little as possible early in the week, pushing the big shop closer to the end of the week. Let's see if that works. I'm getting better at filling in the My Weekly Budget app though.
Hope it works out with the prescriptions.
Love the Christmas cards episode.:rotfl:

Sorry Sun Addict but that last bit did actually made me laugh out loud... thankfully I was own my own in the office when I read it :rotfl:BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

That's Tuesday and Wednesday done - back on the merry go round that throws me off on Friday:)
You lot have made me laugh with your comments
Fortunately Mr SA has lost interest in town until after Christmas.
Unfortunately he had another bad toilet accident last nightIt's always when I nod off on the sofa, I wake up to find all hell has broken loose. It's like having a giant baby, you can't take your eye off the ball for one second
After Christmas I must get a quote for a downstairs toilet. At least he wouldn't have so far to go.It would have to be the cupboard under the stairs, it could fit a toilet and small washbasin.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -

Except she did say she was seen as a nuisance....besides,..they'll definitely see her coming if she was decked with lights
I'd be tempted to add a siren too.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
I was brought up to not seal or write on envelopes if they are not going through the post so that my mum could reuse them. Mind you, she would have quite liked us to write lightly in pencil too. Marvellously frugal, and miles ahead of the game on recycling.
I had to divert through N this afternoon due to the m way problems, It was really rather cold actually so I shared your pain.My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Please reinstall universe and reboot+++

Happy Black Friday

Half price 7ft Christmas tree bought from Wilko via TCB
So just got DGD's and DS's presents to go then that's me done.
Flu jabs tomorrow for Mr SA and I. Mr SA has just started with yet another sore throat so might not get his done. Would like to go to Lidl afterwards to take advantage of cheap cava and crisps, followed by possible cheeky drink in local new pub.
DS and co expected Sunday for annual local Xmas fair - the one I missed two years ago due to being mown down by Mr SA's scooterMr SA might not be going due to not feeling well but DS will probably be happy to sit with him while his OH and I take the kids to see Santa.
Not quite as cold here today but if it's under 30 degrees I think it's coldI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
