    Happy Friday everyone :)

    Carer's payment arrived today :)

Read the meters, despite being in credit the direct debit has gone up :( Everyone said you'll really notice the difference when you get a new boiler - eh no. On the plus side as our heating is on all the time the usage won't go up over the winter. That's the downside to Mr SA being at home all day, the heating is on as soon as summer is gone.

Bought a few bits from Lidl today, still under budget for the week so far.

Can't believe it's December tomorrow, looking forward to opening my gin advent calendar - might be needed after looking after the GKs tomorrow! Have got some small cans of tonic as I tend to be heavy handed with tonic and can't taste the gin.

The Christmas decorations are going up on Sunday :)

    Happy December:xmastree:

Happy days - just found I've got £30 in Morrisons vouchers in my account, will be handy for this week's big shop :money:

Paid £200 off Barclaycard so now at £1880, will need to pay off £470 a month to clear by the time 0% ends in March - scary but do-able.

DD went to work at 6am

Got to crack on now ready for the GKs coming - all breakables must be removed and I need to get the cookie dough made and chilling in the fridge. No point in cleaning up until they've gone though, might leave that for tomorrow.

As long as I only draw out £10 today I should have at least £15 left over from this week's budget. Only going to the local shops for a few bits so don't foresee a problem there. Our local shops are not the most exciting so absolutely no temptations to spend whatsoever.

Have a fab Saturday folks - see you later :)

  • Enjoy your day with the DGC today SA. As you say, Mr SA can forego watching Top Gear for one day!:D

Once Christmas has come and gone you can make a budget/savings plan in earnest for next year. I love the fact that I have a Christmas pressie pot in YNAB now which takes all the hassle of the dreaded credit card bill in the New Year. A couple of years ago I downloaded a free app called Managing Christmas. You can set your Xmas budget and then record everyone and how much you will spend on them. You then enter what you are going to give them and tick off items as you buy, wrap and give! I've found it so useful.

Hope you enjoy Day 1 of the Advent gin!

    Gin I need gin.

OMG what a day. DS and GF were gone for 4 hours  The GKs fought, cried and rampaged through the house. We made the biscuits and watched something on a children's TV channel, couldn't find a suitable Christmas film.

GS can't sit still for five minutes, he goes from one thing to another. He had countless tantrums, threw a big toy car at my bad ankle and kicked me in the groin. GD was grizzly, she'd been sick that morning and kept crying for her dad. GS constantly hit and pushed GD which didn't help then Mr SA told him off which didn't go down well and another tantrum ensued.

I was pleased to see DS and GF when they eventually turned up :)

Anyway the gin advent calendar has now been opened and today's offering is Sipsmith plain gin which is rather nice :) I thought the bottle sizes would be tiny but today's is a very decent 50ml size.

I like the sound of that app SSG. My VSP is my prezzie pot but it's not been as full as it usually is, mainly down to the fact that I shave off the oddments from money coming in and the oddments have gone down. So next year I'm going to set a minimum target of £50 a month.
