Thanks for that @Cherryfudge, maybe next year as I think I may have got away with it this year 🤞One year I did get some brilliant Christmas crackers from Mr S, they had small bottles of spirits in them, which went down very well, but they’ve never done them since. I’ve seen the gin and Baileys ones but these were different spirits and were very reasonably priced. This has made me think about The Good Life Christmas special where they have the homemade crackers with the hats made out of newspapers 😆 I need to watch this again along with the Father Ted Christmas special where they get stuck in the lingerie department 🤣🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Lol, coincidentally @Sun_Addict, we are watching that right now, & I love the Father Ted one too, so will defo be watching that at some point.

In a moment of madness I succumbed to a box of Christmas crackers whilst at the big shopping mall last week. I usually buy them in January- I certainly won’t be paying full price again. There is a game to play at the end - everyone gets a part of the game - no plastic involved. Having everyone come here has made me a tad giddy…..buying all sorts 😏😂😳January spends - £587.585

Morning all, happy Tuesday 🎄
It's DS's birthday today, didn't time that very well did I!
WFH today. Mr M delivery due in the next hour, no missing items or subs thank goodness. Mr SA will be pleased his beer is back in stock. Used the £38 off voucher.
Hoping to get a few jobs done today after work. I need to do yet another freezer tidy up as DD has randomly put her stuff here, there and everywhere. I also need to clean the kitchen and sort out the Christmas decoration boxes in the cupboard under the stairs. I might even get around to wrapping a couple of presents if I get a move on.
Today's exercise is a live festive bums and tums at lunchtime, dog walking and a live resistance bands session tonight.
Tonight's dinner is lentil stew with herb dumplings, one of my go-to recipes (plus I want to use up some natural yoghurt).
I've made a list of things I still need to get. When I'm back in the office tomorrow the plan is to get set up at a desk then go to Mr S early. I haven't got time to work basically 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
I had an unexpected very busy day at work, last minute urgent requests from people breaking up early 😬I did manage to tidy the freezer, sort out the decoration boxes from the under stairs cupboard, clean the kitchen and bathroom. I didn’t have time to make the lentil stew so roasted some veg and had that with pasta. Mr SA had to be on dog walking duty as I was tied to my laptop. I haven’t had time to go outside the house today which was a shame because it was lovely and sunny- and mild. I didn’t get any presents wrapped 😕Back in the office tomorrow for the last time this year. I want to get there early again, set up on a desk, have a coffee then off to Mr S to try and get a few more bits off my list.
Mental note to not work right up to the last minute next year. It’s all very well being off between Christmas and New Year but I really need time off before Christmas.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6 -
Just caught up with your diary SA, due to a c@ck up ( to put it bluntly) by my DH we have been with out internet for about 5 weeks as changing provider became a nightmare. Great time to be without it when you need to Google things for Xmas. Anyway everything now in order including everything to do with Xmas except not feeling very Xmas at the minute. I’ve ordered a smart watch so I can monitor my steps and hopefully like you can do my quota or more a day.
I’ll remind you next year not to work so close up to Xmas and like you have started saving for next year.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.005 -
I don’t know how I’d have managed if I’d have been at work SA. It’s taken me forever to get sorted this year. Hope you get it done and enjoy relaxing over Christmas……somehow I bet you’re still on the go between Christmas and NY 😂😂😂January spends - £587.583

That's Wednesday almost done. Have been in the office this morning and I'm just logging on for a bit from home to finish my day. Last time in the physical office for 2 weeks 🎉
Went to Mr S this morning and picked up a few more things from my list. Got a really good bargain, they were selling off packs of bacon medallions reduced from £3.40 to 84p. I picked up 6 packs as Mr SA likes them. I also picked up one of those long joints of beef for half price. I noticed they are selling off their Christmas stuff already so a few bargains to be had for those who haven't done their shopping yet or want to put away for next year.
Mr SA had to come out to meet me and pick up the bags on my way home from work. I took advantage of being able to load his scooter up and picked up a few more things from L1dl. Got another bargain in there they were selling off some beetroot burgers and vegan sausages so picked up 2 packs of each. Now I need to find some room in the freezer! They had loads of nice looking £1.50 veg boxes but they were full of things that are only 19p a pack at the moment so no one was picking them up. I wish they wouldn't put them after the checkouts though, what a daft place to put them when people have already paid for their shopping and won't be wanting to re-join the queue. Also picked up my free bakery item.
I haven't got much more to get now and I'm hoping to finish off tomorrow morning in Ald!. I really don't want to be going out shopping on Christmas Eve if I can help it.
Steps are on almost 24,000 so far and I have a Zumba class tonight to do yet.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Interesting that supermarkets are selling off Christmas stuff already. Just shows that people aren't buying so much this year. I have cut down by about 80% I think, just a cheap pork joint for dinner, with a few pigs in blankets & stuffing, 1 box of festive cakes and cookies, a few chocolates and some stollen. Got a couple more bits to pick up tomorrow when I go out for veg, and then I will bake on Friday. Can't wait for Boxing day when we can get back to normal.Making the debt go down and savings go up
