I must admit I’m not constantly checking the smart meter, it is what it is. I don’t work full time to be cold. I’m mindful of what I’m using and will cut down what I can but I refuse to freeze.
I did a ClubFit class this morning then walked down to the big Mr T. It was surprisingly not very busy for a Saturday. I spent the £5 voucher I got from Mr T mobile. Suddenly thought while I was out that I have no idea if I have any wrapping paper. Forgot about that small detail 😬
Took the dog for a run on the park after lunch. She was desperate to go out and kept bringing me her ball. The grass is frozen solid over there and the frost is so heavy it looks like snow. Hard to believe the temperature will be a comparatively balmy on Monday at a predicted 14 degrees.Checked the wrapping paper situation and I only have 2 half used rolls. So I need to buy some next week.
Looking forward to the Strictly final tonight although sad it’s over for another year. The Prosecco has been in the fridge since first thing. Mr SA is looking forward to the footie this afternoon and tomorrow. I’ll admit I was dreading the World Cup but it doesn’t seem to have upset the TV schedules as much as I thought it would. Not that I watch much TV.I really must finalise my Mr M delivery as I’ve had yet another email saying the elves are still concerned I haven’t got much in my basket 🤣🤣 I need to submit it before midnight tomorrow.Tonight’s dinner is pizza, wedges and salad.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
Happy Sunday, this time next week it will be Christmas Day 🎄😱
Am I ready, do I feel Christmassy - nope! The plan for today was to go to the park with the garden centre as it’s the last Christmas market today. Mr SA doesn’t feel up to it and although I could go on my own he will insist on coming with me and it will be too much of an ordeal with his scooter and crowds if it’s busy.I’m going to get a few jobs round the house done instead and this afternoon while Mr SA is watching the final in the living room I’ll watch a Christmas film in the dining room. We’ve just got back from taking the dog on the park, the weather forecast doesn’t look great for this afternoon, looks like snow followed by heavy rain.I need to make a list of what I still need to get, where I’m getting it from and on which day. I’m going to get to work when it opens tomorrow, log on, have a coffee then go shopping early before my morning meeting starts.Today will be NSD 7 now we’re not going out.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -
You're doing well with those NSDs.
I need to take a leaf out of your book and make orderly lists of what's still to get/do. I have an extra day off tomorrow which means most of the run up to Christmas is now mine to play with, or, if I'm honest, get down to jobs with. Hence lists.
Enjoy your film!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

There's not much a Christmassy vibe here either @badmemory and I put the tree up last weekend as I felt guilty as my son complained about that and his lack of chocolate advent calendar - oops!

We will be away for 2 weeks from Christmas Eve - the relief of not having to put up decorations, tree, door wreath etc etc is palpable. Christmas Eve - sausages and mash (we always have that on Xmas Eve anyway...), Christmas Day - underdone lamb steaks (with nobody moaning about it). Boxing Day - Chilli Pasta Bake. Christmas Day #2 - Jacket spuds and cold meats.... My idea of heaven... if only I believed in it!#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3663

I used to love Christmas when I was young, the excitement when I was a kid, the going out aspect when I was a teenager/early 20s - oh the joys of counting how many Christmas kisses you could notch up, I was pretty good at this 😘 then when my kids were young their excitement. I’m looking forward to seeing the GKs opening their Christmas Eve boxes next Saturday and the time off work.I watched A Christmas Carol (1984 version), have seen this film many times but still love it.Got banned from the living room by Mr SA as Argentina were winning until I walked in 🤣🤣 He still thinks I jinxed the England game by being in the room 🙄 Thank goodness the football is done until the Euros 🥳🥂Mr SA is happy with the result anyway so I won’t have to listen to him moaning and he’s no longer boycotting baguettes 😆I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

I hope you feel more Christmassy soon although a lot of people are not feeling it this year. There are only a few of us with outside lights up which I guess may be something to do with energy costs.
My granddaughters came over today and we made a gingerbread and chocolate cottage which was quite Christmassy. We will be decorating it tomorrow with sweets. Baking with them is such fun as they get excited over really little things like beating eggs or rolling out dough then I taught the older one to play Jingle Bells on the piano.
I also watched A Christmas Carol this afternoon rather than the football but the animated movie with Jim Carrey. I was quite sorry France didn't win. At least Mr SA is happy though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
