Good idea to shop around for better interest rates.  I'm doing the same as my bank's saving rates are now very low compared to what's available elsewhere.   Every little helps and it's a novel experience for me to have savings.

I hope a scooter solution is available soon.

    Morning happy Saturday 🥂

I’ve been up since 5am, the dog got me up and was out patrolling the garden for ages so I made a coffee and stayed up reading.

Plans for today are to go to Aldi after my ClubFit class. I might have a potter round the local high street as Mr SA won’t be able to insist on coming with me. His not having the scooter is actually quite liberating for me. I keep thinking ooh where can I go 😆

I’ll need to take the dog for a couple of runs on the park without her having the comfort blanket of being able to jump on the scooter if another dog harasses her. She’s usually reluctant to go out without Mr SA so we’ll see what happens.

No visitors this weekend so will get on with the cleaning that didn’t get done in the week.

Tonight’s dinner is mushroom burger, salad and wedges. I don’t like the mushroom burgers as much as the beetroot ones but they’re still tasty.

I will be researching the better interest rate easy access accounts this weekend. My sinking funds and Christmas pot could go in there, might as well get a bit of interest.

Enjoy your relative freedom while it lasts. I hop the dog goes out ok. I, too am looking where to put the money from the closed lon. I must do it before the date when that payment would have come out or it may end up being frittered away.

Mr SA is driving me nuts 😖 He’s desperate to get out and is talking about trying to take the dog out on his Zimmer frame. I took her for a good run this morning and was going to take her again this afternoon but he’s insisting he comes too. He struggles to walk more than a few steps even with assistance so there’s no way he could get to the park even though it’s literally across the road. He’s not even having his usual afternoon nap and is watching me like a hawk instead. I hate it when he’s like this, he’s almost manic and there’s no reasoning with him. He’s also talking about getting rid of the scooter and getting a bike instead - this is a resurrection of an old pester from a couple of years ago 😩

I did manage to get out to the shops this morning on my own so even though it was just Aldi and a couple of local shops it was nice and stress free. I bought a lovely canvas picture from Oxfam for £3.99, really pleased with it.

  • Oh dear, sounds like Mr SA needs something to occupy him maybe, so he doesn't feel like he's lost his independence. It can be very frustrating. My dad has mobility problems, but thinks he can do more than he really can. and then ends up falling. Men just don't like to listen.
Sounds like a bargain in the charity shop. Our local one always has some lovely pictures, but I can never find anywhere to hang them....lol

Very difficult to deal with SA.  What does his Doctor say about these episodes and is he on any medication to calm him down?  If so it may need to be increased?  Hope things improve today, Take care.  (((hugs))) XX

    Morning 🥱

Up early again but nearer 6am so a lie in 😆 I wanted to get up and have a couple of Mr SA free hours before he gets up.

He totally ruined Saturday, we did nothing but argue. Not looking forward to today, will be glad to go back to the office tomorrow. This is all because he can’t get out on his scooter. I’d forgotten how childish he can be when he can’t do something. I reminded him I managed to cope when I was in plaster for 6 weeks - twice - and I’m much more active than him.

That aside, I’m really pleased with something I bought yesterday. Well hopefully I will be when it arrives 🤞 Since we had the new kitchen 5 years ago I’ve wished we’d had an island put in at the same time. There’s plenty of room for one. I’ve been hanging my nose over an island/breakfast bar with cupboard on Cotswold Co website for ages but the price has just gone up by £100. I love their furniture in fact most of my furniture is from there. Something made me look to see if they had an eBay shop and there was the same item for half the price but a refurbished return. It also had an extra 10% off. It might have a small scratch or dent and the inside of the cupboard door has been repaired. Anyway I ordered it. It will be ideal for me as it means I’ll have an extra cupboard, worktop and somewhere to sit as it includes two stools. It’s also exactly the same colour as my kitchen. What made me smile was the company who refurbished the it have sent an email thanking me for my order and they want me to be “proper chuffed” with it 🤣

Plans for today: meal plan, take the dog on the park, clean bathroom and kitchen, Spanish learning, sort out freezer, FitSteps on demand class (for the second time to get my money’s worth) and a yoga session.

It should be NSD 1 of November as I don’t plan to buy anything.

I finished reading my latest book this morning The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena. It was brilliant, lots of unexpected twists and I did not see that end coming in the last chapter - OMG 😱

I hope Mr SA is on his best behaviour for you today.
  •  Breakfast bar sounds great. I'd love something like that in our kitchen, or even a decent table, as I hate the one we have.  Love that you have to be "proper chuffed" with it....lol
Enjoy the exercise classes. Fit steps is great.   Yesterday I did an upper body workout and a  "nifty fifty's"...although I'm well over 50. I told the instructor once we should be called "spritely sixty's"... :D
