I've never heard of Parmo, will have to Google that one! We are East Midlands.

    Morning all.

WFH today but will be out for most of the morning as the dog's got an appointment at the V-E-T. They want to do a blood test just to check everything's ok with the Onsior tablets. It's a good hour's walk each way and I need to pop into Lidl on the way back so that's my morning taken care of. Mr SA is already thinking about a Greggs sausage roll and coffee!

Steps count will be good again today courtesy of the walk. I'm also doing a live stretch session at lunchtime which I think will be much needed.

Tonight's dinner will be a stir fry.

I wonder what the interest rates will go up to today? I'm so glad I fixed the mortgage until the end of its term when rates were really low. Everything is creeping up in price so at least this is one bill under control.

They are predicting a 0.75% rise today which will take it up to 3%.

Glad we have 3.5 years left on our current low rate. Hopefully things will have stabilized a bit by the time we come round to having to remortgage. But we are no strangers to higher interest rates anyway so it won't come as much as a shock as it is doing to some right now.

I am so glad we no longer have a mortgage in these uncertain times. It must be very worrying although we are of a vintage to have paid 15% in the past.

Totally agree Ladyholly. I’m glad we’ve paid our mortgage and have no debts. I really feel for anyone with mortgages and even more so for those with young families. It’s like going back in time to the stories my parents told me about having to put coats on beds to keep warm.

We paid a high-ish interest rate when we bought our first house. I can remember the day it went up to 15%, I was working in an estate agents at the time and our mortgage advisor was so stressed about it.

What an ordeal this morning! Firstly the dog played up at the vets, she wouldn't let her examine her at all. The vet took her away to have a blood test and when she brought her back she said she'd been fine without us there and even let her examine her leg. The blood test was £100 and I've paid for another prescription to be sent to Animed so it's been a spendy day.

On the way to the vets Mr SA's scooter started playing up, it looked to be listing to one side and the front wheel was in the air. On the way back it broke down completely and he had to ring the scooter shop. Fortunately we weren't waiting long and the driver gave us all a lift home. He said he shouldn't have done as his insurance didn't cover passengers but he could see we were going to struggle to get home otherwise. Mr SA has asked if he can change the scooter for a smaller one as this one is too big and makes it awkward to go anywhere.

The back axle of the scooter has gone and the back wheel is also coming off. They haven't got a courtesy scooter at the moment so Mr SA will be without one until it's fixed. Good job we weren't planning to go anywhere over the next few days.

I've had an email from the charity shop that collects from your house to advise me they've raised £187.97 from my donations! I didn't realise I'd given them that amount of stuff.

I've also had an email from the Coventry who I have my regular saver with saying the interest rates are going up. I'm glad I chose one with a variable rate now as the fixed rate one my bank offered me was abysmal.
