Have finally got a carpet place to come out on Tuesday morning. He’s my next door but one neighbour who has a carpet shop.Did a live ClubFit session this morning then took the dog for a run on the park. After that went to the local shops for some loo rolls, the ones I buy have gone up from £3.99 a pack to £5.99 in a matter of weeks 😱 Also bought 3 books from the charity shop 30p each, as if I really need more books 😬
Managed to order the wrong pond pump from Amazon thanks to Mr SA, what he said was the pump was actually a filter! Thankfully I hadn’t used it so have packed it up and returned it. Have now ordered a proper pond pump! The weather has been mostly nice today so have got lots of washing dry and had some time in my hanging chair reading.Pizza and Prosecco tonight 🥂🍕I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
I am like you for reading, @Sun_Addict..Next one on my list is from the library - 'The Push' by Ashley Audrain. It was well-reviewed & looks like it's going to be my kind of thing - prob a psychological thriller. Since I was a child, I've become very twitchy if I see my reading pile drop too low so I use the library a lot & also the Oxfam Bookshop in town. Honestly, there are novels in there that look like they've been read once (if at all, sometimes) before being donated. Charity shop book finds & libraries are good ways of trying new authors or different genres for low or no cost, I always think. I always need to know I've at least 4 or 5 titles waiting to be read!

My tbr pile must be similar… I keep getting the free ones from book bub on kindle, the first reads, any 99p offers I like the look of, but struggle to get around to them as I’ll find a good author and need to read everything they’ve written, plus the pre orders that I wait for for ages and then all land at once 😁 next on my list is the last Strike novel, which was a pre order that landed a few weeks ago, along with several others I’ve read or am reading through. I love books!I hope your neighbour comes good with a carpet. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

@WinterWarrior - I've just ordered the penultimate Strike novel from the library, & I have that new one on my list!

That's a big jump in the price of the loo rolls!
I have just finished Janey Godley's first novel.

I’ve ordered an all in one for large ponds. We always used to have all in ones but the bloke who fitted the boiler was a pond enthusiast and persuaded us to get separate. The all in ones worked perfectly before so have decided to try one again as I’m fed up of wires and pipes everywhere plus the huge filter that has to be buried. I shall see how it goes. We only have two fish!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Our pond has never had a pump or a filter & has always been fine, but it's a wildlife pond so doesn't have fish.
