Happy Monday. Back at work and in the office today. I might have ploughed through my emails by Friday 🙁

On the plus side my new leave year has started 🥳

I need to pop to Lidl on the way home so won’t be a NSD. Also need to look into buying a new pond pump.

Today’s exercise will be 20,000 steps and a strength training session.

Tonight’s dinner is roast veg pasta. It was meant to be veggie lasagne from the freezer but I hadn’t updated my freezer list so was disappointed to find I’d used them all up.

  • That’s a very odd leave year starting date. Ours works on the financial year and I have friends who have the calendar year, but I’ve not known any work on the school year before…maybe I’ve just had a very sheltered existence 😁 I hope you survive Monday ☕️

That sounds like it could have been associated with an academic year at some point.  Mine were that when I worked at a uni many years ago.  Cos they wanted most non academic staff to disappear in August.  Not me as I was needed to help with clearing re uni entrance stuff.  Who knew an economics dept would need people who could actually add up!

Your holiday sounded great. Love the homecoming of the pets greeting you but not to having to tidy the house.
It definitely sounds as if your holiday start point was linked to term times at some time.

The leave year only changed to September last year. Previously we all had different leave years based on our birthdays, they wanted us all to have the same date, it was part of our pay rise T&Cs. We’ve had to sell our souls to the devil but it was a decent rise. We have nothing to do with education.

It’s made me want to question why they picked that particular date but it was to bring us all in line with each other which makes sense I suppose 🤔
