Hope you have a safe journey home.
(And that Mr SA behaves himself!!)3 -
Thanks all. We had a great journey home. The special assistance for Mr SA both in Zante and back home was fantastic. The flight was smooth all the way and on time and we got the whole row to ourselves. The dog was overjoyed to see us when we got back, the cats are being a bit aloof but coming round. As we were waiting to leave the hotel the owner came to speak to us, she said she couldn’t let us leave without saying hello, she didn’t want to say goodbye. She said they were going to make some adjustments to the hotel so it was a little more disabled friendly for next year as she hoped we would return. The hospitality and friendliness of the locals is second to none, they really can’t do enough for you whether it’s at the hotel, beach, restaurants, bars or shops, such lovely people.I’m absolutely shattered as I’m still on Greek time so 2 hours ahead, my body clock thinks it’s 10.30.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

As we had the whole row on the plane to ourselves I moved into the window seat and saw the most spectacular views. The second photo shows just how close the UK is to France and the others are of the beautiful cloud formations.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5

Morning happy Thursday and happy September. The dog got me up at 4am to go out, I did go back to bed though. She’s slept by my side all night bless her.It was payday yesterday so desperately need to do finances. We did alright for money on holiday and have come back with just over €100 which I’ll carry forward to Lanzarote. We didn’t scrimp on anything but there weren’t any interesting shops like in Lanzarote so no temptation to buy anything other than food and drinks which were very reasonably priced. We ate lunch in the hotel pool bar every day, the food was lovely with lots of choice, although Mr SA had ham and cheese baguette every lunchtime just like he does at home 🙄 We had a loyalty stamp card with one stamp for every €5 spent, when the card was full we got €7 off our next purchase. We filled 3 cards while we were there 😆 I have £130 in cash to repay in the bank as the taxis weren’t taking cash and we had to pay a £50 returnable deposit in sterling for the scooter.Mr M order being delivered later, 2 missing items and 1 sub this time. I used my £34 off voucher which brought the cost down nicely.I’m off work until Monday so plenty of time to come back down to earth. The house needs a good clean and I’ve got a load of washing to do, plus unpacking. The dog will need a good run on the park.I’ve got tomatoes, courgettes and peppers to pick from the garden. I noticed the aubergines are coming on nicely now. The garden needs a good tidy up.Now the holiday is over the focus will be on saving money and sticking to budgets. I also need to get back to my exercise and healthy eating regime. I didn’t do anywhere near as many steps as I normally do as everything was close to the hotel, we couldn’t trust the scooter to go further afield and it was too hot anyway.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Happy Friday.I need to go to Aldi today. Forgot to order much fruit/veg on my Mr M order. Also need some beetroot burgers for tomorrow.I thought I was going to have to spend last night on the sofa with the dog as she wouldn’t get down, wouldn’t let me pick her up and kept crying when I left her. She got too overexcited yesterday leaping about everywhere and seems to have hurt her paw. I’d just settled down when she got off the sofa and wanted to go outside, she had a good patrol of the garden then thankfully went upstairs and settled down. She seems fine this morning but I won’t be letting her run today. She’s 10 now and still thinks she can run and jump about like a puppy, her joints tell her otherwise.
Got loads of washing dry yesterday, just got a bit more to do. All the holiday clothes are going straight back in the suitcases. Also need to finish off cleaning.Managed to get some time to sit and read in my hanging chair yesterday afternoon which was nice.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5
