Fish ponds do need a pump and filter as they can become quite contaminated with waste ( I am being polite) from the fish and other debris, algae etc.  We have about 30 fish in a fairly small pond where they have bred. We started with 5! This is why the pond need cleaning once or twice a year.  Mr LH also tops up the pond in very hot weather using the hose pipe on a very fine spray to add more oxygen in addition to the fountain.

I'm always amazed by your step count SA.

I've just started the latest Strike book - I listen on audible and within a couple of minutes I felt I was going to enjoy it very much.  It's 33 hours long so will be a great value for money listen too.
the next Thursday Murder club is due next week too.

    NSD 3 of September today.

Took the dog for a run on the park earlier and did some litter picking at the same time.

Meal plan for next week done based on freezer/cupboard stocks. Made a batch of butternut squash, chickpea and spinach soup for work lunches. Making Mediterranean cod tonight. I have leftover Prosecco from last night 🥂

I’m currently reading Faceless by Martina Cole which is rather gritty to say the least but very absorbing so I’m flying through it.

    Happy Monday 😊

Have been to the office today. Back home now to finish off the last hour and a bit of my working day. Have spent a lot of time rearranging meetings I had planned for next Monday.

On the money front, have done the usual Monday check of finances, cleared the cc and sent an oddment of £2.20 to the Christmas pot.

Had to go to Wilko on the way home for some 3 amp fuses for the pond pump. Said pump hasn't arrived yet but is due today. Hopefully this one will be right!

Today's exercise is walking to/from work, so 16,450 steps done, aiming to finish the day on 20,000. Also doing another Joe Wicks strength training session later.

Tonight's dinner is Mexican rice stuffed pepper with salad - using up freezer/fridge stocks.

The carpet is being fitted next week as he has a cancellation. Woo hoo 😁 I went for the most expensive one as the quality was a lot better and not that much more than the mid priced one, also less than I expected. We are having a new more comfortable underlay than the one that's currently down. I decided not to go for hard flooring on the landing in the end. This carpet is extra heavy duty and stainproof so hopefully won't get ruined by Mr SA!
That sounds lovely, but I really hope he does not take that as a challenge  :D
