Hot tub party sounds great. My response to Mr SA sitting in your chair is that you will be stopping the a la carte menu service and he will either have to eat what you have or make his own dinner. Same goes for coming out with you when you would rather go on your own. Sometimes you have to look after yourself before you can care for others. Wow what a scorcher it is today ☀️Today was NSD 4/12 for July.I wanted to paint the bench at the bottom of my garden but it’s unbearably hot down there, no shade whatsoever. I did paint the cupboard that covers the electricity meter in the hall with the stain I bought yesterday plus the mirror. It’s given them both a new lease of life.
Took the dog out this morning just to the park across the road. The grass on there is all brown now due to the heat and lack of rain. It’ll come back just as green eventually. I can’t believe people have been passing by all day taking their dogs out - it’s far too hot for them 😡
Have spent a fair bit of time in my chair with my book. Currently reading The Postcard by Fern Britton, it’s really good with a great storyline, set in Cornwall. I do like her books.I’m going to watch a live WW cook along at 6pm and attempt the recipe- Mediterranean fish parcel and grilled spiced cauliflower, it’s meant to be a BBQ recipe but will cook it on the griddle pan.I’ve got a busy week coming up. In the office tomorrow. Off on Tuesday for a wander round town then meeting my friend for lunch. Wednesday WFH. Thursday in the office. Friday off again as Mr SA is at the hospital in the morning for the results of the removal of the growth on his head then I’ve got the hairdressers in the afternoon.Have done my meal plan for next week:
Monday - veggie sausages with roasted root veg (to use up freezer stocks)
Tuesday - leftover butternut squash dhal from Saturday with cauliflower rice
Wednesday - fish pie with cauliflower mash (using up things I’ve got in stock)
Thursday - lentil bolognese (freezer stocks) with spaghetti (to use up cupboard stocks)
Friday - stir fry with whatever’s in the fridge veg wise
Saturday - pizza night
Sunday - try a new recipe tbcI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)5 -

Both the cats are outside under bushes. The dog is sleeping on a hot water bottle filled with cold water that’s been in the fridge all day 😆 I wish I’d picked up one of those cooling mats from B&M yesterday now.
In the end I didn’t cook on the griddle pan, far too hot for it so just cooked it in the Ninja. It’s lovely anyway.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2 -
Our dogs are still wanting to go out. Mr H because its part of his routine. Border collies love routine and the little one to toilet because she wont use the garden but I think the longest time they have been out is about 4 minutes. I will take them out in about an hour when hopefully it will be a little cooler. The area where there are walked is largely in shade by that time. I have been spraying Mr H with the fine spray on the hose which he likes when it is hot.

I don't know about dogs and cats but I came home to a hedgehog under the sideboard! My husband had had front and back doors open to create a draft and Mr Hedgehog (or Miss, it wasn't wearing a ring) came in. It then shot through into the kitchen and leapt into a low cupboard, scattering tins and coming to rest on some baking tins which can't have been comfortable. It took a few minutes to shut all doors but the one we wanted it through and ease it out but it's gone now.

Morning, happy Monday.
Wow to the hedgehog @Cherryfudge. I've had a fox and a bat in my house in the past but not a hedgehog 😆
I decided to WFH today, it's too hot to sit in the office even though it has air con and I've no business need to be there. I'm very thankful that I can do this. It's quite cool in the dining room where my desk is and I've got the patio doors open in the kitchen to get some air through the house.
Went to the big Mr T this morning, we only needed milk but I wanted to get some steps in first thing.
Mr SA has already taken the dog on the park, she stayed under the trees in the shade and had a good sniff round. He'll probably take her out for a scooter ride later, she loves sitting on his knee scooting along and I expect the draft cools her down.
The carpet man is coming this evening, not sure what time, hopefully after I've done my strength training class at 5.30.
I could do with giving the kitchen a good clean today, if I do it in stages it won't seem so daunting. Although I'm crossing some things off my to do list I keep adding more to it 😬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)4 -
Well, if even sun addicts are finding the temperatures too hot, @Sun_Addict, that makes me feel a bit less of a wimp! I got all the clean laundry sorted out this morning, then found I was already too hot to iron anything, so I have deferred that to tomorrow morning absolutely first thing. The bin lorry has just pulled onto our road.....what a hot tiring job that must be in weather like this.
